Club La Costa Yacht Club: Set Sail For Corfu This Summer

You may have already discovered CLC World thanks to its incredible collection of hotels and resorts in sun-blessed locations such as Spain’s Costa del Sol and Tenerife and Turkey’s sparkling Aegean Coast.

What you may not realise however, is that the CLC World experience also extends to the water – including luxury Mediterranean cruising on board a 60ft catamaran with Club La Costa Yacht Club .

Club La Costa Yacht Club

Club la costa yacht club: eleuthera 60 catamaran.

clc world yacht club

With Club La Costa Yacht Club, you’ll unwind on water as you leisurely cruise some of the world’s favourite sailing grounds, in total comfort and luxury.

Each of the French-made Eleuthera 60 Catamarans has a dedicated Captain and crew to ensure an unforgettable vacation, as well as light and roomy interior and exterior living areas.

Up to eight guests can be accommodated in four double cabins, each en-suite and air-conditioned, which creates a friendly and highly-personal yachting experience to be enjoyed in the company of friends old and new.

As you discover some of the most breathtaking coastlines in the world, you’ll drop anchor in secluded coves, swim in translucent waters, and choose from activities including deep sea fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking, water-skiing and wakeboarding.

But there’s no-one stopping you from simply spending your days relaxing in a hammock on deck, enjoying the feel of the sun on your skin.

On each Club La Costa Yacht Club catamaran, you’ll find space for a private escape when you want one, as well as the chance to share communal moments too – such as gourmet meals prepared by the onboard chef using only the freshest local ingredients.

Summer Destination: Corfu and the Ionian Islands

clc world yacht club

After a successful 2018 season sailing the eastern Aegean Sea from its base in Samos, Club La Costa Yacht Club has just announced its homeport for summer 2019 will be the island of Corfu .

Situated just off the coast of north-west Greece in the Ionian Sea, this is one of the country’s greenest islands, framed by calm waters of an unbelievable translucency. It also has the added advantage that it can be reached by direct flights from several UK airports.

Club La Costa Yacht Club guests will be introduced to a different side to the Greek Islands, where an Italian influence can be felt the moment they set foot on the cobble-stoned streets of the old quarters of Corfu Town , a site on the Unesco World Heritage List.

But away from the town centre, the island’s major attraction is its natural beauty. While the verdant interior covered in olive groves is a quintessential Corfu image, the long stretches of sandy beaches and secluded bays are some of Greece’s best-kept secrets.

From there, you’ll set sail for the other anchorages in the region, including the neighbouring islands of Paxos and Antipaxos. You’ll wander charming villages overflowing with brightly coloured buildings and set around fishing ports lined with traditional wooden boats.

The mainland of Greece is also within easy reach and you’ll drop anchor in the harbour of Parga, a delightful coastal town surrounded by pine forests and with a vibrant nightlife, as well as the pristine bay of Sivota where you’ll feast on fresh fish and sample locally grown honey and olive oils. You’ll disembark from your sailing adventure with a new appreciation for the splendour and beauty of this corner of the world.

Of course, the final itinerary is at your Captain’s discretion, is weather-dependent and subject to change.

The last word

CLC World’s travel reviews are full of happy Club La Costa Yacht Club guests. Here’s what some have had to say

  • “The boat was so luxurious, we felt like millionaires.”
  • “We met great people and swam in beautiful locations.”
  • “It’s up there as one of the best holidays we’ve ever had.”
  • “We enjoyed panoramic views of the most stunning scenery.”
  • “A much more intimate experience than sailing on a big cruise ship.”

CLC World adds new catamaran to Yacht Club fleet

CLC World Resorts & Hotels (CLC World) has announced the addition of a further yacht, CLC Gemini, to Club La Costa Yacht Club.

Based in the British Virgin Islands, the new catamaran gives CLC World members the opportunity of winter sailing in the Caribbean to complement the Mediterranean summer sails.

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) are one of the world’s top sailing spots. A sailor’s paradise with calm currents, consistent trade winds, protected bays and more than a hint of a pirate past, it is comprised of four main islands – Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and Anegada – that are complemented by fifty plus smaller isles. The BVI offers an unspoiled Caribbean experience.

Sailor’s dream

This sailor’s dream was the reason CLC World chose the BVI for the home port of its newest yacht. A sleek 60-foot catamaran, CLC Gemini combines grace, size and beauty.

On-board, the interior has a light and airy feel courtesy of its wide-aspect windows. The upper-level saloon is spacious with comfortable lounging area including plasma screen TV, DVD player and radio/CD with cockpit speakers.

A professional cook prepares sensational meals from the well-equipped, open galley and there’s plenty of room on the yacht’s double hulls, and the trampoline nets that stretch between them, for sunbathing and socialising. The four double, en-suite air-conditioned cabins are at the extremities of the yacht ensuring privacy and personal space.

Captain Leor Revivo is passionate about sailing, with more than 15 years’ expertise in the marine holiday industry, and excited about Club La Costa Yacht Club’s recent addition and destination.

“We launched the Yacht Club in 2007 and have been sailing the Mediterranean around the islands of Greece, Turkey, Italy and Spain, offering our members inspirational and changing itineraries, ever since,” he said.

“Members do not need to be experienced sailors with our professional crew at their disposal. However, those who wish to can help the crew sail the yacht.

“It has been my aspiration to sail the waters of the British Virgin Islands for some time. Now we can offer our members and their guests incredible sailing at fantastic destinations all year-round.”

Water sports

As well as warm and sunny climates, the Yacht Club’s destinations are ideal for a range of water sports including snorkelling, water-skiing, wakeboarding, fishing and scuba diving.

The BVI have a range of world-class dive sites including the RMS Rhoneoff Salt Island and Kodiak Queen, with her Kraken, off the shore of Virgin Gorda. Club La Costa Yacht Club’s supervised dives allow members to explore these sites and the compelling marine environment, creating magical memories.

Patrick Ingram, CLC World Resorts’ managing director, said: “Membership of the Yacht Club is an introduction to the wonderful world of yachting without the responsibility of outright yacht ownership. CLC World is proud of the standards it has set in the holiday ownership industry and Club La Costa Yacht Club continues to be an exciting innovation that reinforces this excellence.”

Oyster Hotel Review

Large resort complex is like its own mini-village .

clc world yacht club

Due to the overwhelming size of CLC Club La Costa World, first-time visitors may find the grounds a bit difficult to navigate. Guests receive a map of the property and there are signs throughout to help, plus a shuttle runs around the resort so guests don't have to walk too far. Expect to also see some horseback riders exploring the grounds. The property has a Mediterranean feel thanks to stucco buildings, tiled roofing, arched windows bordered with red brick, and lovely sea views from certain vantage points. Decor varies in the restaurants, and though apartments are dated, the main lobby is contemporary and attractive. The space has a rustic feel with exposed wood beams, vaulted ceilings, and modern furniture upholstered in soft, warm colors. The vibe is generally relaxed vibe, and guests are a mix of families and couples. Note that some areas of the hotel are reserved for CLC World members.

Convenient location, walking distance from the beach

The hotel is near a pretty busy road, A-7, but most previous guests have noted that street noise is not an issue (this can be dependent on room location, though). With safety and convenience in mind, the hotel has an underground tunnel that takes guests straight to the beach. The Fuengirola town center is about a 20-minute walk (nine-minute drive) from the hotel, while Marbella and Puerto Banus are about a 30-minute drive. Malaga Airport is 23 minutes away by car. Los Boliches Train Station is a 10-minute drive from the hotel and makes traveling to farther cities easier. Costa Water Park is a quick six-minute drive away. On-site parking is free.

Dated decor, but clean and equipped with the basics

clc world yacht club

The apartment-style rooms are spacious and offer guests a lot of room to move around with their separate sleeping and lounging spaces. Apartments range from dated spaces with tired patterned linens, traditional wood furniture, and small floral artwork, to more contemporary units with modern furniture, IKEA-like sofas, and Rothko prints along the walls. All, however, are well-equipped with living areas that house couches, TVs, and dining tables, and kitchenettes featuring microwaves, ovens, toasters, mini-fridges, and all the necessary cookware. Washing machines and free Wi-Fi are also provided. Also notable is that all have private terraces with loungers and dining sets. Bathrooms come with shower/tub combos, bidets, hairdryers, and free bath products.

Pools, range of restaurants, and daily entertainment

clc world yacht club

Families traveling with children will undoubtedly appreciate the on-site entertainment features. In addition to the direct beach access, there are a few outdoor pools with separate kiddy pools and plentiful loungers and thatched umbrellas. A game room with two pool tables, tennis courts, and a gym are also available, but the latter requires a fee. Additionally, a kids' club is available, though guests have to purchase a t-shirt. Daily activities and entertainment are free, ranging from karaoke and live music to bingo. A supermarket is on-site, as are a variety of restaurants, including barbecue options at El Rancho and burgers and salads at the poolside Safari Restaurant. Food as a whole has gotten mixed reviews. Wi-Fi is free but can be spotty.

CLC Yacht Club Catamaran

The latest addition to the Club La Costa Yacht Club fleet, the 60-foot catamaran will be based out of the British Virgin Islands between February and May 2019.

CLC World Resorts & Hotels (CLC World) announces a new yacht and new winter cruising destination to Club La Costa Yacht Club . CLC Gemini is a luxury catamaran that will be based in the British Virgin Islands, offering Yacht Club members winter sailing opportunities. The yacht’s inaugural season will run from February 2019 to May 2019 and will complement the Yacht Club’s very popular summer cruising itineraries in the Mediterranean.

CLC Gemini joins CLC Romy and CLC Nicodemus as the third catamaran in the Club La Costa Yacht Club fleet. The 60-foot catamaran was built by French luxury  builder Fountaine Pajot and can accommodate eight guests in four double, en-suite air-conditioned cabins. Onboard, the spacious internal and external living areas allow members to relax while receiving attentive service from the captain and his crew which includes a   an experienced chef. Other features include TV/DVD and open galley.

Established in 2007, Club La Costa Yacht Club has spent every summer exploring destinations such as Greece, Turkey, Italy and Spain. This announcement heralds the fleet’s first base outside  the Mediterranean. One of the world’s top sailing spots, the British Virgin Islands (BVIs) have been chosen as the home port of its newest yacht. Comprised of four main islands – Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and Anegada – the archipelago offers an unspoiled Caribbean experience with calm currents, consistent trade winds and protected bays. With this new base in Tortola, Yacht Club members have the opportunity to sail throughout much of the year.

Captain Leor Revivo, who has more than 10 years’ expertise in the marine holiday industry, is excited about Club La Costa Yacht Club’s recent addition and destination.

“We launched the Yacht Club in 2007 and have been sailing the Mediterranean around the islands of Greece, Turkey, Italy and Spain, offering our members inspirational and changing itineraries, ever since. Members do not need to be experienced sailors with our professional crew at their disposal. However, those who wish to can help the crew sail the yacht.

It has been my aspiration to sail the waters of the British Virgin Islands for some time. Now we can offer our members and their guests sailing at fantastic destinations all year-round.”

As well as warm and sunny climates, the Yacht Club’s Caribbean and Mediterranean destinations are ideal for a range of water sports including snorkelling, water-skiing, wakeboarding, fishing and scuba diving. In particular, the BVIs contain   world-class dive sites such as the RMS Rhone off Salt Island and Kodiak Queen off the shore of Virgin Gorda. Club La Costa Yacht Club’s supervised dives will allow members to explore these sites.

Patrick Ingram, CLC World’s Managing Director, commented: “Membership of the Yacht Club is an introduction to the wonderful world of yachting. CLC World is proud of the standards it has set in the holiday ownership industry and Club La Costa Yacht Club continues to be an exciting innovation that reinforces this excellence.”
