Disney Transportation Map

Our Disney Transportation Map is an interactive map designed to help you plan your next Disney vacation. Use it to determine which Disney Resort is the best fit for your next trip to Florida!

How to Use the Disney Transportation Map and Guide

The massive Walt Disney World Resort transportation system can be confusing. Use our Disney World Transportation Map/Guide to navigate your way around the park. We provide the bus, monorail, and boat routes you will need to reach your destination.

To use the interactive Disney World Transportation Map and Guide, simply click on the name of the Disney Resort you wish to depart from or arrive at. You will see the Disney transportation options available to you. The transportation routes are color-coded and highlighted to correspond with the information in the legend key. Note that certain destinations do not have direct transportation options, and you may need to take a connecting mode of transportation to reach your destination.

Walt Disney World Transportation Map and Guide

Disney Transport  is a massive public transportation system at Disney World that provides efficient transportation within the park. All modes of Disney transportation are complementary (i.e., FREE) and open to guests staying at a Disney Resort and staying off-property.

The system consists of buses, monorails, watercraft (water taxis, boats, and ferries), and other assorted modes of transport heading to areas throughout Disney World. Disney Transport provides guests with a wide variety of transportation options, including resorts to theme parks, theme parks to theme parks, resorts to resorts, and Disney Springs (the shopping, dining, and entertainment district). In other words, where ever you want to go to Disney World, you can get there using some form of Disney transportation. Plus, there are taxi services like Uber and Lyft within the park if you so choose.

Because of Disney’s large size – 25 Disney Resorts, 4 theme parks, and two water parks – deciding which mode of transportation you should use to get from point A to point B can be confusing. Thus, we have created a Disney World transportation map to help you find the best route to your destination. Continue reading for detailed information about transportation routes and pickup locations to and from each Disney Resort listed on the map.

How Does Walt Disney World Resort Transportation Work?

Disney provides transportation using buses, ferries/boats, monorails, as well as a few other options like railroad and parking lot trams. One of the great things about Disney transportation lines is that it is entirely free to use, which means you can potentially spend no money on transportation during your stay at the park. Of course, there are plenty of  parking lots if you choose to use your own car (you can even get free parking if you’re staying onsite) — and you can use taxi/Uber/Lyft options (extra charge) to speed up your arrival if necessary. However, if you plan on staying at a Disney Resort, there really is no need to open your wallet to get around Disney World.

As you can see from the Disney World Transportation Map, there is a wide availability of free transportation inside the park. In addition, every Disney Resort has stations/stops to catch various modes of transportation to a theme park, water park, and other destinations around Disney World.

Buses at Disney World

Buses provide Disney World guests a mode of transportation in locations where monorail or boat are not available, and walking is not an option. You can find Disney’s bus service connecting all in-park Disney resort hotels with each theme park and water park (most buses provide direct service), to/from Disney Springs, and service between parks.  Like all modes of Disney transportation, bus service is complimentary and offered to both visitors staying at a Walt Disney World Resort as well as those staying  off-site .

On average, Disney buses run every 20 minutes from all Walt Disney World Resorts, although wait times can vary. To accommodate breakfast dining reservations and parks with Extra Magic Hours, bus service to the theme parks typically begins at 6:30-7 a.m. (running on a less frequent basis). Buses run at full operation roughly one hour before the park opens and stop running up to 2 hours after the park closes in the evening. Buses to/from Disney Springs remain in operation until 2 a.m. Check with your Walt Disney World Resort for the latest information.

Larger  Disney World hotels have bus stops inside the resort grounds, whereas smaller resorts typically have stops near the resort’s front entrance. The bus stops for theme parks are located near the park entrance, and the Disney Springs stop is located near the Town Center entrance.

Transportation and Ticket Center & Monorail Service at Disney World

Disney Transportation Map

With over 150,000 daily riders, the  Disney World monorail  is one of the world’s most heavily used monorail systems. There are three monorail lines at Disney, all originating from the  Transportation and Ticket Center  (TTC). The Disney World Transportation Map lists them all. Monorail service is free for Resort guests and non-guests.

The “ Resort ” monorail line loops between Magic Kingdom and the TTC, making stops at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary Resorts.

The “ Express ” monorail bypasses the resorts and travels directly between the TTC and Magic Kingdom.

The “ Epcot ” monorail line provides service between the TTC and Epcot.

*see below for resort-specific transportation options

Transportation from Value and Moderate Disney Resorts to the Theme Parks

Guests staying at Value and Moderate resorts will  not  have access to either boats or monorail but  do  have access to buses that go directly to each theme park. Walking directly to a nearby park from your hotel may even be possible. For guests staying at Fort Wilderness, Disney offers a free shuttle service around the resort, making internal loops to take guests to different areas of the gigantic campground.

Transportation Between Resorts

Taking the free Disney transportation between parks can be confusing to the uninitiated. We recommend that you head to the nearest theme park and hop on a bus, monorail, or ferry to your destination. You may also find that heading to Disney Springs and catching a bus from there is an easy option. If time is of major concern, the quickest way to travel between resorts is by taxi/Uber/Lyft. This should cost you in the $10-$15 range, but the time you save may be worth the added expense.

Transportation from Disney Springs

Disney Springs  provides free parking throughout the day. While this may sound tempting to guests with cars, be warned that there is no direct transportation to the theme parks from Disney Springs. You can certainly take a bus or water taxi to other transportation hubs and find connecting services to the parks from there. Just be aware that transportation originating from Disney Springs will take longer than from other locations within Disney World. On a positive note, one-way service from the parks to Disney Springs  is  provided after 4 pm.

Disney Minnie Vans, Uber, Lyft, and Taxi Service

For those of you who don’t mind spending the extra money to get better service, then Walt Disney World has a few options for you. Guests can opt for the convenience and playfulness of the Disney Minnie Vans service or the standard on-demand ride services of Lyft and Uber. And yes, there are still plenty of old-school taxis within the park as well. Any of these options will improve your comfort level and save you time.

Disney Minnie Vans

Disney Minnie Vans is Walt Disney World’s on-demand ride service. These vehicles operate daily from 6:30 am to 12:30 am and are available to anyone within the park.

Although Disney has partnered with Lyft on this service,  Disney Minnie Vans  are actually operated by Disney and driven by Disney Cast Members (Disney employees). To schedule a Disney Minnie Van, you simply open the standard Lyft app and call for a pickup as you would for a normal Lyft ride.

As far as the vehicles go, the vans are more like midsize SUVs. They are painted red with white polka dots (a la Minnie Mouse). Each vehicle will hold six passengers and carry two adjustable car seats for children.

The cost of Minnie Vans is much higher than a taxi, Uber, and standard Lyft rides. Be aware the Guests can only be picked up in designated pickup zones and not from sidewalks or non-designated areas. Minnie Vans are able to drop you off directly at the Magic Kingdom or next to Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness or anywhere else you wish to go.

Disney Minnie Vans are a good option if you don’t mind paying for comfort and point-to-point convenience.

Lyft and Uber

On-demand Lyft and Uber services are available throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

While cheaper than Minnie Vans and regular taxi services, be aware that “surge pricing” is in effect during periods of high demand. Prices for Lyft and Uber could potentially exceed taxi rates during this time. But, for the most part, Lyft and Uber will be the cheapest transportation option (other than the free Disney Transportation options listed above).

Using an on-demand ride service like Uber and Lyft is fairly straightforward. Just download one of the apps and use it on your Android or iPhone. Remember to stay put once you call for the car, so there is no confusion as you meet your driver.

Taxis are located throughout Walt Disney World Resort and use different brand names (Yellow Cab, City, Checker, or Safety). However, all the taxis are yellow, and all are operated by Mears Transportation (a company that has an official relationship with Disney). We recommend that you use the yellow cabs (sedans and vans) with meters, lest you pay more than you have to.

Call (407) 699-9999 to schedule a pickup, or have your hotel’s front desk call over to a Yellow Cab or taxi to wait for you.

If you haven’t visited Disney Springs lately, you might be surprised how much the place has grown. It’s so large that you’ll want to know where you’re going before arriving, especially if you have a dining reservation or are visiting a specific destination within the venue.

  • Walking Paths

When applicable, you might consider driving your car to the venue. For those with plans to do some shopping, it’s nice to have the ability to store packages in your vehicle instead of carrying them all day.

Complimentary bus transportation is provided to Disney Springs from Disney’s Resort Hotels. However, some of the resorts near Disney Springs area provide alternate transportation options to the venue in addition to buses. We’ll look at these options in more detail below.

But it’s important to note that ALL Disney-owned and operated hotels provide bus transportation to and from Disney Springs.

Disney Springs Bus Schedule

Buses begin running from the resort hotels approximately 30 minutes (usually anywhere from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.) before Disney Springs opens. Bus service continues up to an hour after the venue closes. Disney does an excellent job at ensuring their resort hotel guests get back to their hotel at the end of the evening.

Disney Springs Bus Transportation

Guests traveling to Disney Springs via Disney buses are dropped off at the Town Center bus loop. Town Center is conveniently located at the center of Disney Springs.

Buses do not run from the theme parks to Disney Springs. Additionally, buses do not run from Disney Springs to any theme parks.

Further down, in the tips section, I’ve added details on how to leave a theme park and get to Disney Springs. We use these methods when we leave a park and visit Disney Springs for dinner.

A Note to Guests Staying in the Disney Springs Resort Area

If you’re staying at Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Port Orleans Riverside, or Port Orleans French Quarter, you might get to the bus stop and see that the wait times sign says “use watercraft” for Disney Springs. You can use the boat service. However, the bus still runs from the resort to Disney Springs. It just doesn’t display the wait time. We are at these resorts often and see numerous guests get confused and leave to go find the boat. While we enjoy taking the boats, we have found that the bus is often more efficient.

For example, if you’re staying in the Carriage House section of Saratoga Springs, you might prefer to take the bus to Disney Springs. This will be a much quicker (and shorter) option than walking or taking a boat to Disney Springs. Below is a photo of the bus stop at Disney Springs.

Rideshare to Disney Springs

Those traveling to Disney Springs via a car service (i.e., Lyft, Uber, Minnie Vans) are dropped off and picked up at the old Marketplace bus loop. This area is called Disney Springs East.

An additional rideshare location is available on the West Side (Disney Springs West) near the Watermelon surface parking lot and Cirque de Soleil.

Disney Springs Parking

As mentioned above, free parking is available at Disney Springs. Several garages and lots surround the venue:

Disney Springs Lime Garage is at the Town Center and exits near The Polite Pig restaurant. Disney fans argue that Lime is the better of the two garages because of its central location. This garage is often the first to fill up on a busy day.

For those who like to keep things low-key, we much prefer to park in the Orange Garage. The Orange garage is located on the West Side of Disney Springs. This parking garage has an exit near the Coca-Cola Store. A few nearby restaurants include Jaleo , Wolfgang Puck , and Chicken Guy!

Grapefruit’s garage is across the street from the venue and has a pedestrian bridge. Surface parking lots (Strawberry and Watermelon) are located toward the back of Disney Springs.

*Parking for guests with disabilities (permit required) is available in the garages and surface lots. Those who need to rent an ECV, wheelchair, or stroller can do so at Sundries, which is near the bus loop at Town Center. See Disney Springs Guest Services for more details.

Unfortunately, valet parking has been discontinued at Disney Springs.

Water Taxis to Disney Springs

Select resorts offer water taxi service to Disney Springs. Those resorts are as follows:

  • Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs
  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort
  • Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter

Water taxis drop guests off at Disney Springs Marketplace boat dock. If you want to learn more about this service, we have a separate article that shares details of the boat ride between Disney Springs and the Port Orleans Resorts.

Walking to Disney Springs

Guests visiting Disney Springs from Saratoga Springs can walk back and forth to the venue. You’ll find the walkway to Disney Springs near the Congress Park section of Saratoga Springs. It’s a beautiful walk along the water with views of Disney Springs.

All you have to do is follow the path toward The Marketplace. When you reach the end of the walkway, you’ll cross a bridge to enter Disney Springs. There, you will go through a security checkpoint before entering the venue.

yacht club to disney springs

An additional walking path is available on the West Side of Disney Springs. This path cuts across the golf course and ends up at The Springs boat dock at Disney Springs. You can take another path from this location to Old Key West. However, we would not recommend walking to Old Key West from Disney Springs. It’s a remote path that takes approximately 30 minutes at an average pace.

yacht club to disney springs

Additionally, guests of non-Disney hotels near Disney Springs can use one of the raised pedestrian bridges to access Disney Springs. These footbridges are on the opposite side of Disney Springs, close to Lake Buena Vista Drive.

We have a few reviews of those nearby hotels:

  • Drury Plaza Hotel at Disney Springs Review
  • Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace Review
  • Doubletree by Hilton at Disney Springs Review

*Technically, guests can take a walking path from Old Key West to Saratoga Springs and then walk to Disney Springs. However, this route would likely take an hour and goes through a fairly remote area. So, in most cases, we wouldn’t recommend it.

Water Taxis at Disney Springs

Unfortunately, the water taxi service that takes guests from one end of Disney Springs to the opposite has yet to return. At this time, all water taxis coming to and from the resorts drop off at The Marketplace boat dock.

Formerly, water taxis serviced the following boat docks within Disney Springs:

  • The Marketplace
  • West Side (not open)
  • The Landing (not open)

Disney Springs Transportation Tips

Before we wrap things up, I wanted to share a few tips for using various transportation to get to Disney Springs. Anyone visiting Disney Springs can use Disney transportation even if they are not staying on the property.

  • There is no cost to visit Disney Springs
  • Parking is free at Disney Springs.
  • All Walt Disney World Resorts provide bus transportation to and from Disney Springs.
  • Guests staying at Saratoga Springs have the luxury of being able to walk, bus, or boat to Disney Springs.
  • Guests staying at Saratoga Springs, Port Orleans Riverside, French Quarter, Old Key West, and the Treehouse Villas can take a boat or bus to Disney Springs.
  • Water taxis provide transportation to three docks within Disney Springs. (*Service is not operating at this time.)
  • Buses do not run from Disney Springs to the theme parks or vice-versa.

yacht club to disney springs

Here are a few ways you can use transportation to get to Disney Springs after leaving a theme park:

From Magic Kingdom to Disney Springs:

  • Walk to Disney’s Contemporary Resort and take a bus to Disney Springs.
  • Take the resort monorail to the Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian and take a bus to Disney Springs.
  • Take a bus from the Magic Kingdom to any resort. Then, stay at that bus stop until the next bus to Disney Springs arrives. (Some resorts will be out of the way distance-wise.)
  • Take the bus from the Magic Kingdom to Saratoga Springs Resort, get off at the “Congress Park” bus stop, and take the walkway to Disney Springs.

From Disney’s Animal Kingdom to Disney Springs:

  • Take a bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge (the closest resort to Animal Kingdom). Then, take a bus to Disney Springs.
  • Take the Saratoga Springs Resort bus from Animal Kingdom, get off at the “Congress Park” bus stop, and take the walkway to Disney Springs.
  • Catch any bus from Animal Kingdom to a resort. Then, stay at that bus stop and take the next bus to Disney Springs. (Keep in mind some resorts will be out of the way.)

From Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Disney Springs:

  • Walk or take a Disney Friendship Boat to the Boardwalk, Beach Club, or Yacht Club. Then, take a bus to Disney Springs.
  • Take the Saratoga Springs Resort bus from Hollywood Studios, get off at the “Congress Park” bus stop, and take the walkway to Disney Springs.
  • Catch any bus from Disney’s Hollywood Studios to a resort. Then, stay at that bus stop and take a bus to Disney Springs. (Use this tip with discretion. Some resorts will be out of the way.)
  • Take the Disney Skyliner to any available resort. Then, head to that resort’s bus stop and take a bus to Disney Springs.

From Epcot to Disney Springs:

  • Walk or boat to Disney’s Boardwalk, Beach Club, or Yacht Club. Then, take a bus to Disney Springs. This can be done by exiting at Epcot’s International Gateway. The International Gateway exit is between the United Kingdom and France Pavilion.
  • Use the Disney Skyliner at Epcot’s International Gateway to visit a Disney Resort. Head to the bus stop at that resort and take a bus to Disney Springs.
  • Take the Saratoga Springs Resort bus from Epcot and get off at the “Congress Park” bus stop. Then, take the walkway to Disney Springs.
  • Catch any bus from Epcot to a resort, stay at that bus stop, and take a bus to Disney Springs. (Some resorts will be further travel distance using this tip.)

*Disney’s Swan and Dolphin no longer use Disney’s bus service. Guests of these resorts are dropped off at the West Side of Disney Springs.

*If you would like to ride the water taxis, you can take a bus from any theme park to Port Orleans Riverside, French Quarter, or Old Key West. Then, take a boat from those resorts to Disney Springs.

All of these travel tips can work great when transportation is running smoothly. However, some of these scenarios might end up taking longer than expected. For example, terrible timing or unforeseen issues could lengthen travel times.

When leaving a theme park, we almost always prefer to take a bus to Saratoga Springs and then walk to Disney Springs. Taking this route eliminates the possibility of waiting on two different buses.

Below is a picture of the bus stop at Saratoga Springs, where you’ll disembark if you elect to take this route. Saratoga Springs is a massive resort with several bus stops. When they finally call Congress Park over the speaker system, you might worry about finding your way to Disney Springs.

Fear not. The walkway sits directly across from the bus stop. A sign with an arrow indicates it leads to Disney Springs.

Hi, I'm Amber the owner of Resorts Gal . We have stayed at every single Disney Resort Hotel. Our philosophy? We believe you can have an incredible time at the resorts without ever setting foot in a theme park. We live near the parks and visit weekly and would love for you to follow along.

I understand that bus transportation is provided to Disney Springs from Disney Resorts, but you don’t specify if transportation is provided to return to the resort. I know this probably seemsike a stupid question, but I just want to make sure. Does Disney provide bus transportation from Disney Springs to the Disney Resorts?

Hi, no your question is understandable. Buses travel from Disney Springs to the Disney Resorts. There’s a huge bus stop in front of the Town Center area at Disney Springs. It’s next to the same area where they drop you off. There are signs that indicate the bus stop number for each individual resort.

Just a bus warning for leaving Disney Springs. One year we took Disney Spring bus to Boardwalk Resort which is 5-10 minutes straight down highway. It took 65 minutes w/ stops at every Epcot hotel & resort first lol.

I have read that an option for the quickest way to get from Disney Springs to EPCOT is by taking the Disney bus back to the Swan Hotel, and then walking to EPCOT, with a walk of little less than a mile (0.7 miles), and is then about a 15 minute walk, which I don’t mind Is this still an option? Are these buses still located at the Marketplace Bus Loop, on the east side of Disney Springs and if so are they easy to find? Will the bus simply say Swan Hotel on the front of it, or is there something else to look out for on the front of the bus?

Hi, you would want to take the bus from Disney Springs back to Beach Club. It’s a much shorter walk. We recently left Epcot one day to have a late lunch at Disney Springs. We walked out of Epcot at the International Gateway and took a bus from the Beach Club to Disney Springs, and then returned to Epcot the same way. It’s about a 5-minute walk from Beach Club’s lobby to Epcot.

It sounds like the Disney Resort buses that go to/from Disney Springs are available to anyone, regardless if you are staying on/off the property? Is this correct? Also, it appears Lynx has buses at Disney Springs that go near offsite Marriott properties? Where would I find more information on Lynx? Thank you!

Yes anyone visiting Walt Disney World can take advantage of the transportation options offered at the resorts or theme parks. Unfortunately, I don’t have any information for Lynx. However, the Marriott hotels will have any options for transportation listed on their individual websites. It really depends on which hotel you choose. Have a fun trip!

Hi Amber, thank you for your response. So If I am wanting to save $$ on transportation I could take Lynx to Disney Springs, then take the Disney bus to the Beach Club Resort (for free), then take the water taxi (for free) to Hollywood Studios?? I know it will involve more time, but being by myself there is no hurry… BTW, what time do the Disney Resort buses start running FROM Disney Springs? Thx!

You are welcome. It sounds like you enjoy traveling at your leisure, as do I. As far as resort buses from Disney Springs, they will be slower to pick up from the venue than drop off first thing in the morning. I would imagine there aren’t many people leaving at opening time, so you might have to alter your route a little bit.

Hi Resorts Gal, Thanks for this thorough transportation article! Our vacation starts next Monday. Is this a good plan?… we are staying the Hilton Buena Vista Palace, which is right across from Disney Spring. It’s an official Disney hotel with a shuttle to all the parks. We want to have lunch at Gyser Point. Should we take our shuttle straight to Ticket and Transportation ctr. then take the ferry to Wilderness Lodge ? Or is there a better option?

If it were me, I would probably walk to the bus stop at Disney Springs and catch a direct bus to the Wilderness Lodge. However, it is a bit of a walk from your hotel to the Disney Springs bus stop. (I think I touched on this in our Hilton Buena Vista Palace Review .)

If you take the shuttle you’ll get dropped off at the TTC. Then you’ll have to take the ferry or monorail to Magic Kingdom, go through security, and then take a boat to the Wilderness Lodge. So this isn’t a terrible option, but make sure to give yourself plenty of time to do either.

Thanks so much!! We’ll do your first option.

You are welcome. You might consider how early you leave too. If Disney Springs hasn’t been open long, there might not be a ton of buses returning to the resorts yet.

We are planning a trip and I’m Trying to figure out transportation via Disney bus. We are staying at POP Century and have dinner reservations at Splitsville dining room afterward we were looking to go to Winter Summerland Mini golf which I believe is outside of Blizzard beach ( temporarily closed) is there a bus that will take us from Disney Springs to the mini golf place and the back to POP Century from the mini golf area?

Hi, to my knowledge when Blizzard Beach is closed, bus transportation is not available to Winter Summerland. You would likely need to take a taxi, Minnie Van, or car service from the West Side of Disney Springs to Winter Summerland. Or you could take a bus from Disney Springs to Coronado Springs, and then take a taxi or car service to Blizzard Beach, which might save you a few extra dollars (but not time).

When most visitors come to Disney World for the first time, they don’t understand the Disney transportation system, and their trip becomes a whole lot harder than it needs to be. To be fair, at first glance, the Disney transportation system looks quite confusing. Between the buses and the monorails and the boats and the Skyliner, it can seem overwhelming. But don’t be afraid! This guide is here to break it down for you.

How Do You Use Disney Transportation?

Disney transportation can seem very complicated and confusing, but we’re here to make it as easy as possible for you! There are many perks to the Disney transportation system, as, if you use it properly, you can get just about anywhere in the Walt Disney World Resort area for free.

The Disney World transportation network consists of a myriad of transportation options, including buses, monorails, boats, and more! While that can seem a bit overwhelming, the easiest way to look at it is to figure out how to get from point A to point B, simply by referring to our Disney transportation guide below.

Forms of Disney Transportation

Bus transportation at disney.

While the Disney bus is the least exciting form of transportation on the property, it is also the most expansive. There are buses that go from every Disney resort  to every theme park and waterpark, between theme parks, to Disney Springs, and even sometimes between resorts.

Because Disney resorts, parks, activities can be bustling from the early hours of the morning to the late hours of the night, the Disney bus schedule runs from 6:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. At peak hours of the day (which is typically just when the parks are open), Disney buses run every 20 minutes or so.

Monorail Transportation At Disney

The Walt Disney World Resort has three different monorail lines: the Resort line, the Epcot line, and the Express line. The monorails start running 30 minutes before the earliest park opens and stop running one hour after the last park closes. All three of these monorail lines converge at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), the hub of Disney World transportation. In other words, if you can access a monorail, you can get easily get to any monorail stop on any line.

white monorail with blue stripe Disney transportation

The Resort monorail line stops at the TTC, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Magic Kingdom. If you want to skip all of the hotels, jump on the Express monorail line instead, as that line takes guests directly from the TTC to Magic Kingdom (and back). Lastly, the Epcot monorail line takes guests from the TTC to Epcot (and back), just as its name implies. If this seems a little confusing, having a Disney monorail map can help you visualize the routes a little bit better.

Skyliner Transportation At Disney

The newest form of Disney transportation is the Disney Skyliner. This whimsical gondola form of transportation also has three different lines: the Epcot line, the Hollywood Studios line, and the Disney’s Art of Animation Resort line. All of these three lines converge at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.

The Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Skyliner line takes guests from Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Pop Century Resort to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. The Hollywood Studios Skyliner line then takes guests from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to Hollywood Studios. As an alternative, the Epcot Skyliner line takes guests from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to Disney’s Riviera Resort and Epcot.

As if buses, monorails, and Skyliners weren’t enough, Disney Transportation also includes boats. There are several boat routes, all revolving around Magic Kingdom, Disney Springs, and Epcot. Disney boat transportation typically starts running 30 minutes before the first park opens and closes one hour after the last park closes.

First up, there are the Magic Kingdom boats. There are ferryboats that take guests between Magic Kingdom and the TTC. From there, you can hop on a monorail or a bus to just about anywhere in the Walt Disney World Resort. In addition to these ferry boats, there are four different flag-oriented boat routes. The Seven Seas Lagoon Gold Flag boat takes guests between Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The Bay Lake Blue Flag boat transports riders between Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds. For a straight shot route from Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds to Magic Kingdom, hop on the Green Flag boat. Lastly, for a clear-cut route between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom, take the Red Flag boat.

Because Disney Springs is open from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m., the boats that transport guests to, from, and around the area are open during the same hours. The Yellow Flag boat takes riders between Disney Springs, Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside, and Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter. The Blue Flag boat takes guests between Disney Springs and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. The Green Flag boat transports riders between Disney Springs and Disney’s Old Key West Resort. Lastly, the Red Flag boat transports guests within Disney Springs from the West Side dock to The Landing dock to the Marketplace dock.

Finally, there is a set of boats that takes guests in and around the Epcot area. First, there is a route that takes guests between Epcot, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resort. There is also another nearly identical route that makes all of these same stops, as well as a stop at Hollywood Studios. Lastly, there are a couple of Disney boat transportation options within Epcot, including between the Germany and Mexico pavilions and between the Morocco and Canada Pavilions.

Minnie Van Service

Disney’s Minnie Van Service is one of the most unique Disney transportation options. It is essentially Lyft with a Disney twist. You’ll actually use the Lyft app to request a Minnie Van Service ride! There are a few differences between Lyft and the Minnie Van Service. First, instead of getting picked up in a regular old car, you’ll get picked up in a vehicle decked out just like Minnie: a red background and white polka dots. Another difference is that the Minnie Van Service costs quite a bit more than a normal Lyft. Lastly, unlike Lyft which can pick you up and drop you off practically anywhere, there are designated pick-up and drop-off locations for the Minnie Van Service.

Airport Transportation Services

Disney no longer offers free transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport (MCO), but there are lots of affordable and varied options to choose from. They make it easy to fly into the airport and get to your Disney Resort in a timely manner and without any stress.

Below you will find an extremely detailed Disney transportation map, including the routes for buses, monorails, Skyliner, water transportation, shuttles and more. This map of Disney transportation shows you exactly where each type of transportation goes and how many stops you’ll have to pause at before reading  your final destination. This is a really fantastic printable Disney map to have with you during your visit as it is highly helpful!

Transportation Between Disney Resorts

The most straightforward way to go between Disney Resorts is by taking the easiest form of transportation from one resort to the closest theme park, and then taking another form of transportation from the theme park to the resort. As an alternative, you could always take an Uber, Lyft, or Minnie Van. While these aren’t free (as they aren’t provided by Disney), it’s much quicker than taking Disney transportation and should only cost you between $10 and $15.

I hope this Disney transportation guide helped to make all of the transportation options at Disney World a little bit more understandable. As always, I’ll be happy to answer any questions that you may have!

Disney’s Yacht Club: the Complete Guide

Yacht Club

Disclosure: This Disney Yacht Club overview page contains affiliate links. Read  full Disclosure Policy .

The older sister to the Beach Club Resort , the Disney Yacht Club rests on the Crescent Lake, completing the trio of resort areas on the boardwalk area.

While the Yacht Club shares some features and amenities with the Beach Club , it is a mistake to think that they are one and the same.

Created to be slightly more upscale, the Disney Yacht Club has its own unique flavor that sets it apart from its sister.

Resort Location

Contact information, disney’s country club – the disney yacht club.

While the architecture is generally the same, the subtle gray color sets the Yacht Club apart from the Beach Club . This shade also sets the upscale tone. The nautical theme is still present, however the focus is more on boatmen and sailing rather than the beach itself. Jewel tones match the variety of woods in the lobby and hallways, giving the Yacht Club the feel of a fancy ship rather than a beach resort. Throughout the resort, the décor emphasizes sailing and sea voyages, a more serious side to the ocean.

The Disney Yacht Club shares some facilities with the Beach Club , like access to the pools and fitness center. However, it has plenty of its own charms that are not to be ignored. You will also love taking advantage of the proximity to the boat rentals, which fits with the overall resort theme. Don’t forget to get out on the Disney BoardWalk and enjoy the sights!

The resort is comparable in size to the Beach Club (without the Villas), and is attached to one of the convention centers Disney has on site. This makes the Yacht Club an ideal local for a convention, large business meeting, or a wedding. Packages are available to create the perfect experience for a large gathering, and Disney is prepared whether it’s for work or pleasure.

A Voyage Through Time – The History of the Disney Yacht Club

Image of Crescent Lake at Disney Yacht Club

The Disney Yacht Club was the first of the resorts to grace Crescent Lake, opening November 5, 1990, shortly before the Beach Club later that month. Robert Stern, who had a passion for replicating the vintage American vacation experience, designed both the Yacht and Beach Clubs. Eventually, Stern would go on to add the BoardWalk Inn to this resort region, rounding it out in both theme and area. Altogether, these resorts comprise the main Epcot resort area, as well as creating their own small world of a historic New England summer.

The Yacht and Beach Clubs are opposite sides of the marine coin – one focusing on the navigation of the sea while the other fun times at the beach. Both are full of the Disney magic we know and love!

Anchor’s Away! Disney Yacht Club Resort Amenities

Rooms & suites, accommodations & benefits.

At the Disney Yacht Club, you’ll find plenty to choose from when it comes to the room selection . Decide between a water, garden, or standard view depending on your preference. Additionally, for a bit more, you can book some of these offerings with Club Level perks. The Yacht Club also has two-bedroom suites if you need something with just a bit more space.

Standard rooms and suites all have the same basic amenities:

  • Internet – Free WiFi Service
  • Telephone with voicemail
  • Coffee Maker
  • Iron & Ironing Board
  • In-Room Safe
  • Mini-refrigerator

Such conveniences are typical of a Disney resort stay, making it easy to settle in and feel at home.

At the Club Level, you can take advantage of these extra benefits:

  • Evening turndown
  • Secured key access to the club-level lounge, serving refreshments 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily
  • Access to Concierge service at the Regatta Club
  • Complimentary health club access
  • Personalized Front Desk and Guest Services

These can be particularly nice, especially if you are planning to hang out at the resort throughout your trip. That extra breakfast option doesn’t hurt either!

Room Layouts

In the standard rooms, regardless of view, you could find a number of configurations. Options include two queen beds, two queen beds and a day bed, one queen bed and a twin-size sleeper chair plus a day bed, one king bed, or one king bed and a day bed. What is great about having so many options is you can take into account the type and size of your party. From there, choose the room that best fits your needs.

Standard rooms are “all in one,” meaning the bedroom and living areas are in the same space. With that in mind, take the time to determine what fits your needs. Just traveling as a couple? Spring for the king bed rather than dealing with the extra space of the extra queen. Only have one child? The single bed and day bed would be better for you. Two kids? How much is it worth to you to give them their own places to sleep?

Two bedroom suites have a king bed in one room and two queen beds in the other. Additionally, there is a queen-sized sleeper sofa if you need just a little more space. This is a great way to get your whole party into one room while still providing privacy to everyone. Multiple bedrooms and a living area also means multiple TVs, which can be a godsend when traveling with kids (or the in-laws). We suggest piling all the kids in your group into the room with the queens, leaving the adults to the privacy of their own areas.

Stormalong Bay

Stormalong Bay is like a miniature water park, complete with a 230-foot water slide, lazy river, and whirlpool section. Oh, did I mention that the slide is shaped like a shipwreck? It’s so cool, and a great spot to snap a photo!

In addition to the amazing pool spaces, there’s actual sand at the bottom of the pool to make it feel like you’re really on the shore! A shallow section of the pool also holds a bit of extra sand for kids to play and build. This is great for your kiddos who don’t really want to get all the way in the pool, but want to join in the fun. Feel free to bring your own buckets and sand toys! Stormalong Bay is heated year-round, so no need to worry that it will feel like the ocean. Even the hot tubs are like their own personal oases, hidden throughout the pool complex like natural hot springs.

If you want to secure yourself a spot at this popular pool, you can rent a poolside cabana . Splurge a little on the extra privacy and comfort! These cabanas have their own padded furniture, television, resort phone, plush towels, and a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary soda and water. You also have access to a small safe for personal belongings you may not want to leave sitting out. While the cabana doesn’t come with food, you can order food to the cabana for an extra charge.

Know Before You Go

Stormalong Bay, sadly, is one of the worst kept secrets on Disney property. It is one of the most popular pools at Disney World , and can get crowded quickly. Part of the reason for this is that Stormalong Bay is shared between the Yacht and Beach Clubs. While Stormalong Bay certainly is big enough to accommodate both resorts, guests tend to hang around the pool for a while. Some guests even spend the whole day (or multiple days) at this inland beach. Moral of the story – if you want to go to Stormalong Bay, make sure you get there early. Or rent a cabana.

Also, make sure you have your MagicBand or phone readily available when headed to the Bay. You will need it to both get into the pool are and prove that you are a Yacht Club guest. This pool is so beloved that guests from other resorts try to sneak in. Especially during peak seasons, Cast Members may ask to scan your MagicBand to be sure you are actually staying at the Beach Club. Please don’t be offended if this happens to you – the Cast Members are just doing their jobs, and it is really to your benefit. It keeps other guests from taking your space!

Leisure Pools

Swimming pool at Disney Yacht Club

If you’re looking for somewhere a bit quieter to relax, you might want to try one of the three leisure pools. The Yacht and Beach Clubs each have their own, and the Beach Club Villas have one as well. While each pool is designed to serve the guests in those areas, all the pools at both the Yacht and Beach Clubs (including the Villas) are open to all Yacht and Beach Club guests.

Ship Shape – Massage, Spa, Salon, and Fitness

If you’re looking for a place to spoil yourself, or just get a good work out, you want Ship Shape . A massage, salon, and fitness center, it covers all your physical needs. Located at the Yacht Club, but available to all guests, Ship Shape is a great way to keep up with your workout routine while you’re on vacation. You can use the fitness center at any time of day or night, just use your MagicBand to swipe yourself in.

You should also make time for the incredible spa services, including massages and facials. Get a little “me” time with a Swedish massage for yourself, or indulge in a romantic massage for two. Add a reflexology foot massage, aromatherapy, or extra time to any massage appointment for a bit extra.

Right next store to the spa, you can find the salon. Haircuts and other treatments are available for men, women, and children. They even have a special session designed just for the kids to make them look like a Disney character ! The salon also offers a wide variety of nail services, whether you need a touch up or want to get your nails done for a special night out.

If you are planning to use either the spa or salon, you’ll need to book in advance. Call (407) 939-7727 for spa appointments and (407) 939-4526 for the salon. Only guests 18 and older can book the appointments, although younger guests can absolutely use the facilities (while accompanied by an adult). Please note, if your plans change, you need to call to cancel within six hours of your appointment window to avoid paying for the full price of your service.

Those that choose to travel with their own transportation, do have to pay the overnight parking fee for each night of your stay. At the Yacht Club, the fee is $25 a night or $33 for valet. The parking charge goes on the bill at the end of your vacation, so you don’t have to worry about paying it every day.

A major benefit to paying this fee is that you don’t have to also pay to park at the theme parks , which can save you both time and money. There’s something nice about having your own car versus waiting on Disney transportation, so don’t fret about bringing your own car. Growing up, that’s what we always did, and the benefits definitely outweigh the spending.

Sports and Recreation at the Disney Yacht Club

The Disney Yacht Club shares many of its facilities with the Beach Club, and that includes its recreation offerings. While that does mean double the guests trying to do the same activities, there’s enough offered that you won’t feel overcrowded!

I also suggest trying some of the fun surrounding the Yacht Club – there’s lots to see and do over on the BoardWalk side, as well as over by the Swan & Dolphin resorts. All of these areas are a quick walk or boat ride away, so you don’t have to worry about transportation.

Pirate Adventure Cruise

For the kids in your group, consider booking a Pirate Cruise! With the massive rise in popularity of the Disney pirate characters, these lake cruises are perfect for little adventurers.

Kiddos ages 4-12 can join a pirate crew and set sail across Crescent Lake and Epcot park’s World Showcase Lagoon. Departing from the Bayside Marina, right next to the Yacht Club, your little sailors will hear the tale “The Legend of the Albatross” while they follow clues to find a hidden treasure. At the end of the trip, the triumphant buccaneers will split the pirate bounty and enjoy a feast (snack) together!

If you’ve booked yourself something at the spa or the salon, this is a great way for your kids to be entertained and try something new, enabling you to relax and enjoy your treatment. If you have littler ones, we suggest that you make sure they are accompanied by an older child from your party.

Evening Activities

Why let the fun end when the sun goes down? Like many other resorts, the Disney Yacht Club has fun family-focused activities in the evening to help you wind down your day. Enjoy roasting marshmallows over a campfire before watching a movie under the stars!

Located on a lawn outdoors near the Beach Club volleyball courts, you’ll find Cast Members waiting for you with the materials for your delicious snack before showing a family-friendly Disney film . Sometimes the film is shown in the Solarium depending on the weather.

Traditional Sports

Want to get out and enjoy the sunshine? The Yacht Club makes available plenty of more traditional sports opportunities for all the active members of your group.

Fun for the whole family, rent a surrey bike , clattering along and ringing your bell all along the boardwalk. Enjoy a round of tennis or the jogging trails for some light exercise. Runners will also love just taking a few laps around the boardwalk, as it connects the main Epcot resort areas. This is a great way to get moving in the morning, without having to travel particularly far. If you’re up early enough, you’ll get some fantastic pictures of the BoardWalk , Yacht Club, and Beach Club!

Right by the Tidal Pool, there are a few beach volleyball courts if you’re looking for a friendly game. These are first come, first serve (no pun intended).

You can even go on a guided bass-fishing excursion if you’re dying to get out on the water. Head out onto Crescent Lake, and see what’s biting!

Boat Rentals

yacht club to disney springs

Even if you’re not a big fisherman, you can rent motorized boats of various sizes to go out and enjoy Crescent Lake. Speed around the lake in the Sea Raycers, explore the sights in the slightly larger Boston Whaler, or take the whole family on a slow and smooth pontoon ride.

The Sea Racyers are particularly great, as they are light and fast. Built for two passengers, you’ll have a blast racing your family members…just be careful of other boats! Before I could even drive I car, I was able to captain a Sea Racyer, and I loved every minute!

Transportation Options

For airline guests, the best option is Disney’s Magical Express (at least until they finish building the train !). On my most recent trip, I remembered all over again why I love this free service. It’s so nice just to get off the plane, grab your bags, and head straight down to the motor coach. Disney did just recently release that Magical Express will end in 2022, so if you’re travelling any time soon, use it before it’s gone!

Disney Magical Express bus

Like all Disney resorts , the Yacht Club also uses the Disney bus transportation, taking guests from the resort to the parks and Disney Springs. The busses won’t directly take you to other resorts, but if you head to Disney Springs you can catch a bus to a different resort. You’ll find the Yacht Club bus stop right outside the main lobby and car loop to the left. This is the only bus stop for the Yacht Club, so if your room is a bit further away you might want to account for the walking time when you’re headed to the bus. While the Yacht and Beach Club each have their own bus stop at the resort, they will take the same bus from the parks, so make sure you’re getting off at the right place.

Of course, the Yacht Club is so close to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios that it might just be faster to walk. In fact, if you’re trying to do anything other than walk to Epcot, you’re going to end up costing yourself time! In terms of the Studios, it can be a bit of a hike, so there are a few other options you might want to take.

yacht club to disney springs

Since the Yacht Club is on the water, you have access to Disney’s water transportation . These boats are a fun and relaxing option, particularly if you have the time just to enjoy the ride.

There are several stops along the boardwalk ring, making it easy to cross the lake if you don’t want to walk. This boat will take you on to Epcot as well, but again walking is the most direct route. You can also take a water taxi over to the Swan and Dolphin then to Hollywood Studios. This transportation option does move at a more leisurely pace, so if you’re in a hurry you might want to choose something else. Otherwise, skip the bus and board a boat!

yacht club to disney springs

Yacht Club guests have easy access to the newest travel method, the Disney Skyliners . A Disney Skyliner station is right at the International Gateway to Epcot, which is the back entrance of the park. Scooch on over from the resort and you’ll be off through the air! This is a great way to get to Hollywood Studios or to the other resorts on the line – Riviera Resort and Caribbean Beach.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is part of the Epcot Resort area. When getting off of Florida’s I-4, you’ll want to exit on to Epcot Center Drive before turning on to East Buena Vista Drive. The resort will be on the right, past the BoardWalk resort. Make sure you don’t turn into the Beach Club by mistake!

While you can trust your GPS to take you there, it might be worth looking at the map ahead of time. Occasionally, the GPS will take you to the incorrect entrance.

Resort Address:

1700 Epcot Resorts Boulevard Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830-8407

Get ready to feel like the captain of your own nautical adventure at the Disney Yacht Club!

For questions regarding booking or and existing reservation, call (407) 939-5277 to speak to a cast member. If for some reason you need to contact the resort directly, call (407) 934-7000.

Disney Confirms 5 Month Shut Down in 2025, Hidden Notice Alerts Guests

in Walt Disney World

An entrance sign to walt disney world, featuring a large blue banner with the park's name in stylized white lettering, flanked by flags, under a clear blue sky with fluffy clouds.

One of Disney’s most popular resorts is about to undergo quite a large closure, and many guests do not know about it yet.

disney's yacht club

At Walt Disney World Resort, there are over 25 resorts for guests to choose from when they are coming to the most magical place on earth, and all of them fall into different tiered categories for different price points.

For example, if you are not looking to spend an exorbitant amount of money on your hotel, the value resorts would be perfect for you. These are resorts like Disney’s Pop Century Resort or the All-Star Resorts. These hotels are simple in terms of room layout, but with recent refurbishments, they have the perfect sleek look with that magical touch of Disney.

Moderate resorts like Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort kick things up a notch with more in-depth theming in the rooms, as well as around the resorts.

Then, the deluxe-level resorts are the highest-cost hotels at Disney, like the Grand Floridian or Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. These rooms and the overall grounds of the hotel are meant to transport you into different spaces with detailed theming. These are also the hotels that guests stay in when they purchase from DVC (Disney Vacation Club).

Since the deluxe-level hotels cost the most, it is undoubtedly upsetting when you find out that there will be a ton of construction at your hotel during your stay, which can possibly ruin bits of the magic for you.

Stormalong Bay Pool Yacht Club

Recently, we learned that at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool, the most coveted pools on Disney property, will undergo a lengthy refurbishment in 2025.

As Disney noted:

“From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools.”

As a Disney World local, I would have to say that while Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort does have a great location as it is in walking distance to EPCOT, the pool with its lazy river, sand bottom, and impeccable theming would be the main reason that I would want to book a room at the resort, so this multi-month closure that extends into the summer has likely caused some guests to rethink where they want to stay on their 2025 vacation.

Now, we have confirmed that the construction will not stop there.

Disney's Yacht Club Room

During nearly the same period, the Yacht Club side of the hotel will also undergo a room renovation. This means that there will be added construction, noise, and fewer rooms available. Disney’s website states, “From January through May 2025, some Guest rooms at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will be under refurbishment. While Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours, most Resort hotel amenities will remain available.”

Knowing that Yacht Club will be filled with construction and the pool will not be available for the first half of 2025 makes the deluxe location a lot less appealing. The hotel’s price point is still around $600 per night, which is comparable to what the resort is currently charging, which bounces between $600 and $700 per night without any closures or construction.

yacht club lobby

Disney’s Contemporary Resort will also be shutting down many of their rooms on the Bay Lake side of the resort in 2025 for a refurbishment as well.

We do not yet know what the rooms will look like at the Yacht Club once they are refurbished, but Disney’s BoardWalk Inn did just get its own room refurbishment, just steps from the Yacht Club. The refurbishment has actually gotten quite a bit of flack from fans who think that the new modern, clean look is comparable to a Hilton or Marriott room, which lacks the theming that Disney is known for.

Disney has been outsourcing a lot of these refurbishment projects to the same teams who work out of the new resorts in Las Vegas instead of using Imagineering, which has been shown via the new modern aesthetic that the hotels are bringing in.

Walt Disney World Revamps and New Experiences Coming in 2024 and Beyond

Get ready for a whirlwind of exciting changes at Walt Disney World Resort! The next several months of 2024 and the whispers of future developments promise thrilling updates for theme park enthusiasts.

First up, EPCOT fans can gear up for the grand opening of CommuniCore Hall & Plaza this June, with a new Encanto (2021) show debuting on the new stage, as well.

Magical performance under a festive canopy: a vibrant scene from Disney's 'Encanto' where characters come together to enjoy music and celebration in a warmly lit, colorful setting adorned with flowers and lights.

This brand-new area is sure to become a hub of activity and exploration next to the World Celebration Gardens.

Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the beloved Animation Courtyard theater is currently undergoing a refurbishment. This exciting renovation paves the way for the debut of a refreshed show, “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure,” which is set to premiere this fall.

Magic Kingdom also holds the potential for some exciting news. With hints of a major expansion project near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, fans are eagerly awaiting official announcements to see what magic this area has in store.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid entrance

Disney recently unveiled a $60 billion investment plan for the coming years, setting hearts racing with anticipation for future developments that Disney CEO Bob Iger has promised will come with expansions and higher capacity in the theme parks. With Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening its doors in 2024, speculation is high for a potential late-2025 reveal coming in August.

Animal Kingdom is also poised for a change. The beloved “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” show is expected to close its curtains later in 2024. However, fear not, animal enthusiasts! A brand new Zootopia -themed show is slated to take its place, likely by 2025, promising a fresh and exciting experience.

EPCOT’s Test Track is also undergoing a significant overhaul. This iconic attraction will be revamped for a whole new generation of thrill seekers, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all. One of the most significant changes on the horizon is the potential transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. This area is expected to be reimagined into a brand new Tropical Americas land, featuring beloved characters and stories from Indiana Jones, Coco (2017), and Encanto.

Mickey and friends inside of Disney's Animal Kingdom Park.

Now that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD), Disney’s governing district, have settled their lawsuits, there is more room for the state and theme park to work together to get permits and changes approved for the Walt Disney World Resort.

Walt Disney World’s governing board meeting returned to normalcy on Wednesday, offering a stark contrast to the eventful gatherings of the past year.

Gone were the typical hallmarks of a heated municipal meeting – fiery speeches from the chairperson, calls for resignations of board members appointed by Governor DeSantis, and the back-and-forth exchanges that often dominate such forums.

Instead, this session focused on the practicalities of park operations. Board members unanimously approved contracts for essential infrastructure projects, proving the two are on the way to mending the once feud-filled relationship.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is Scheduled for Refurbishment in 2025

by Allison Fricker · April 29, 2024

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is known for its nautical details, elegant vibe, and close proximity to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios .

Add that to an incredible pool, delicious dining , and upscale accommodations and you’ve got a recipe for one seriously magical Disney vacation!

Yacht Club

Photo: Disney

Of course, maintaining those beautiful grounds and pristine interiors means daily upkeep (thanks, Mousekeeping! ) as well as occasional construction.

We already know that the Yacht Club’s feature pool, Stormalong Bay, will be closed for refurbishment between January 2025 and June 2025.

yacht club to disney springs

Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Now, Disney has announced that the resort’s guest rooms will also see a refurbishment during this time. Let’s check it out!

Room Refurbishment at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

According to Disney, some guest rooms at the resort will be under refurbishment from January 2025 through May 2025.

Yacht Club Refurbishment 2025

Disney is careful to note that the refurbishment includes “some” — but not all — guest rooms.

The construction may cause some additional noise during the day, but the work should quiet down by nighttime. This way, guests can still enjoy a peaceful night’s rest!

yacht Club

The notice indicates that “most” resort amenities will remain open during the refurbishment period.

stormalong bay

However, the refurbishment at Stormalong Bay will run simultaneously, meaning the feature pool will be closed during the room refurbishments. Guests will still be able to swim at The Yacht Club’s Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools.

A Fresh New Look

So far, few details are known about the upcoming room refurbishment.

Yacht Club

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort received its last upgrade back in 2018 when the wallpaper borders were removed and carpets were replaced with dark wood flooring.

The result was a sophisticated look with a distinctly upscale vibe.

Yacht Club Guest Room

We’re not sure what Disney has in mind for the refurbishment, but we can’t wait to find out!

Staying During Construction?

If you’re staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort during the upcoming room or pool refurbishments, you’ll still enjoy the resort’s amazing amenities, beautiful grounds, and peaceful pools.

Yacht Club Lobby

If noise is a concern, be sure to request a room that’s far from construction.

Full List of Everything New Coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World

By Jasmine Kocon Leave a Comment

We’ll be getting a new ride in Magic Kingdom and Disneyland soon!

yacht club to disney springs

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Disney announced that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom will be opening sometime this summer! A specific opening date has yet to be shared, but work on the ride seems to be moving right along. We won’t be surprised if we learn a date soon. But until then, we keep learning more and more about what’s to come. All of the elements we know so far have been shared rather sporadically over many months, so we wanted to share them all in one place for you. Let’s take a look at EVERYTHING coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom!

If you’ve ever seen the movie  The Princess and the Frog , then you likely remember the story of Tiana and Prince Naveen fighting for their lives against magic, falling in love, and eventually seeing their hard work pay off. Well, that is not the story that will be featured on the ride. The ride will be set AFTER the final kiss of the movie, and the two have now begun operating Tiana’s Palace.

yacht club to disney springs

Now, the characters are getting ready for Mardi Gras! As Tiana is preparing for the Mardi Gras party at her restaurant, she realizes she’s “missing a key ingredient” and needs help finding it. You get to join in on the adventure to the bayou where you’ll meet some cool new critters practicing their music.

yacht club to disney springs

We’re looking forward to being part of this brand-new story!

Princess Tiana and Other Characters from the Movie

Of course, Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen will be joining in on the fun! In fact, there will be SEVEN Tiana animatronics throughout the ride! There will be other characters throughout the journey like Louis…

yacht club to disney springs

…Charlotte, and Mama Odie.

yacht club to disney springs

Also making appearances will be Eudora (Tiana’s mom) and “Big Daddy!” It’s going to be a bunch of familiar faces, while new ones are mixed in!

New Characters

While we saw glimpses of Prince Naveen’s parents in the movie, they will be part of the ride! The King and Queen of Maldonia and their son (Naveen’s brother) Prince Ralphie will join in on the fun.

yacht club to disney springs

There will also be new critters in a few new bands playing music as we cruise down the bayou! The first group of critters we were introduced to will play some Zydeco music for us.

yacht club to disney springs

Then, Disney showed us the cute Rara band that will be coming to the ride!

yacht club to disney springs

But of course, that wasn’t all! Some Afro-Cuban music playing jazzy frogs will also be hopping into the adventure.

yacht club to disney springs

In total, there will be 17 characters throughout the new ride. We can’t wait!

Speaking of all new bands, there will be all-new music throughout the ride which will be “inspired by songs from the film.” Mama Odie will be featured with music, we’ll hear Zydeco music, Afro-Cubin music, and Rara music as we float down the bayou. Plus, Disney has revealed that  PJ Morton  — a Grammy Award-Winning musician and someone you might recognize as the keyboardist for Maroon 5 — will be creating  a NEW original song for the ride .

yacht club to disney springs

Grammy Award-winning musician and New Orleans native PJ Morton ©Disney

Grammy-Award Winning Artist Terence Blanchard is also helping to make the music of the attraction come to life. Fun fact: Blanchard played all of the trumpet parts for Louis the Alligator in “The Princess and the Frog!” Blanchard will be creating the new music that we’ll hear in the queue.

Speaking of the queue, there are lots of fun details being added to the line of this ride!

yacht club to disney springs

The queue construction

The story begins in the queue where you’ll discover that Tiana wants to further bring the community together as she continues to grow her business. As a result, she’s bought and transformed an old large salt dome ( that’s the “mountain!” ) with the help of her mother, Naveen, Louis, and fellow owners of the cooperative where she and her employees work together to make food products (like Louisiana Tabasco Sauce! ) and help members of the community become business people.

yacht club to disney springs

The land around the salt mine has also been renewed and now grows veggies, herbs, and spices for her famous recipes, and the familiar structures from the Splash Mountain queue will be transformed into the main offices for Tiana’s Foods . You’ll also notice New Orleans soundscape and decor to make you feel like you’re actually there. There’s even a surprise of the smell of freshly fried beignets to make you hungry as you wait.

yacht club to disney springs

5-Story Drop

Since Disney created this new ride from a pre-existing ride, we’ll see a lot of the same ride elements. That will include the 5-story drop from the top of the mountain!

yacht club to disney springs

Construction Cast Members ride testing!

The ride will last about 11 or 12 minutes and will feature a combination of practical lighting, digital lighting, and scenic paint. We can’t wait to see how they were able to transform this new ride! Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too much longer to ride it!
