The space-saving washroom is rather compact

For the 2017 touring season, Marquis Leisure is taking things up a gear, offering a trio of new A-class motorhomes.

With the Benimar brand, the Marquis dealership network has a unique offering among new low-profile and overcab coachbuilts. Because its sister company is Auto-Sleepers , it has a foothold in van conversions, too.

Now it’s looking to add A-classes, by taking on three models from Mobilvetta . Who? Well, it’s an Italian brand that – like Spain’s Benimar – is part of the Trigano Group, but that hasn’t been sold in the UK for a while.

Marquis has selected three models from the K-Yacht Tekno Line range of maritime-influenced A-classes, including this, the K-Yacht Tekno Line MH-80 , the only one to feature a rear lounge.

A-classes with a rear lounge, two drop-down beds and underfloor heating are practically unheard of!

The Mobilvetta K-Yacht Tekno Line MH-80’s front lounge includes a large, L-shaped settee, a good-sized table that slides in all directions, and a side seat. But there might be some squabbling about who has to sit on the inner of the two rear travel seats, because legroom there isn’t generous.

They won’t want for entertainment, however. There are two USB sockets here, as well as an individually controlled light. Speakers beneath the drop-down bed should provide perfect sound for anyone sitting in the cab seats watching the TV over the rear travel seats.

The rear lounge is more exciting, and is the most yacht-like part of the motorhome. It’s not strictly speaking U-shaped, because the offside is taken up by a wooden shelf that you can lift up to gain access to the garage – doing so also reveals a second TV bracket, with a shelf underneath for your DVDs. Still, you can easily seat five or six people in here.

The table plays no part in sleeping arrangements, there being a drop-down bed here, too. But it can still be moved up and down, giving you either a coffee table, or a dining table – albeit one that you can only use two sides of.

Three large windows allow in plenty of light, and the designers have cleverly used mirrors on the undersides of the overhead lockers to bounce in even more, and there’s plenty of LED lighting, too.

In between the two lounges is an offside kitchen with a brilliant-white work surface and a large stainless-steel sink. Its cover can be clipped to the side wall to make a flimsy shelf. Although you only get a three-burner hob, the whole area is well lit.

Across the corridor – slightly further than you might be used to – there is a 150-litre fridge with a SMEV oven and grill above it.

To the front of the fridge and oven you’ll find a washroom that includes a separate shower cubicle – although the washbasin is situated within it. The shower comes with lights and a modern-looking showerhead. There’s also an extractor fan, so the two mirrors shouldn’t mist up.

The only slight surprise is that the shower door folds back to be held by a strip of Velcro – we’re not sure how long this will last.

With the manually operated front drop-down bed (which measures 1.86 x 1.36m) you get two individually controlled spotlights, as well as a large rooflight.

The electric rear bed is marginally larger, measuring 1.88 x 1.4m. But has no headboard, so you have to watch out for the windows.

The garage isn’t large enough for bikes, but there’s a useful side locker.

We also appreciated the way the catches for all external locker doors slip out of a solid housing, making them less likely to jam.

There’s one overhead locker with solid internal shelves in the front lounge. The large space under the side seat provides neat access to the battery beneath, but the space under the L-shaped seat is taken up by the water tank.

There’s a similar overhead locker in the kitchen, as well as a pan cupboard, large drawers and a wide shelf.

Finally, a large wardrobe between here and the rear lounge comes with a shelf that can be removed if you want to make it full-height.

Il destino di Mobilvetta, nel gruppo Sea e più in generale nella galassia Trigano, è quello di rappresentare l’eccellenza italiana, e in questo senso stanno andando i progetti di sviluppo della collezione che per la stagione 2016 si concretizza in una nuova gamma di motorhome: i K-Yacht Tekno-Line .

Ma andiamo con ordine e vediamo quali sono stati i passi avanti fatti. La scocca, prima di tutto, ha beneficiato dello sviluppo tecnologico denominato iTech 4.0 , ulteriore passo avanti iniziato già da un paio di stagioni e che ha visto la graduale scomparsa degli elementi in legno dalla struttura . Ora né pareti, né pavimento, né tetto hanno la listellatura in legno, sostituita da elementi sintetici. Il rivestimento in compensato lascia il posto a un foglio di vetroresina. Gli isolanti sono pannelli in polistirene a cellule chiuse. I vantaggi si possono riassumere in un migliore isolamento e coibentazione, maggiore rigidità rispetto alle torsioni, maggiore semplicità di riparazione e qualche chilogrammo in meno alla prova della pesa. Un piccolo tangibile segno di distinzione del brand: su tutti i modelli, al centro della griglia radiatore, al posto del logo Fiat campeggia l’emblema di Mobilvetta cromato su fondo nero . In termini di praticità tutti i modelli Mobilvetta hanno sulla scocca esterna lato veranda la scatola multifunzione per allacciamento esterno di antenna tv e satellitare, e le prese 12 e 220 volts. Un altro dettaglio funzionale, ma che conta, è la nuova elegante plafoniera a Led collocata sopra la porta che ora è più grande rispetto al passato. Nei garage è stata invece migliorata la funzionalità attraverso l’abbassamento del bordo inferiore del portellone di circa 4 centimetri : in questa maniera è limitato al minimo indispensabile il bordo inferiore sull’ingresso del gavone che, ricordiamo, ha il pavimento in robusto mandorlato in alluminio antiscivolo. Inoltre questa operazione ha consentito di ottenere un portellone più alto. Diverse migliorie anche a bordo, dove viene confermato il tavolo con piano color legno e bordo chiaro impreziosito da una banda cromata, ma viene aggiornata la meccanica di movimento: ora il piano – oltre a traslare in avanti, indietro e di lato – può anche ruotare . L’elegante cucina Mobilvetta ha un nuovo rubinetto con miscelatore e becco a 90 gradi: il comando del miscelatore ha serigrafato il logo di Mobilvetta. Il corpo del miscelatore è cromato, tranne sulla serie K-Yacht Tecno Line dove è cromato e bianco. Su tutti i modelli i pensili hanno nuove maniglie con funzione ergonomica e di blocca/sblocca del meccanismo di chiusura . Si evolve anche il design del pavimento in pvc che, pur non cambiando tonalità dell’effetto legno, riproduce l’effetto “listoni” più realistico attraverso la nuova stampata. Un vero tocco di classe in chiave nautica è la rivisitazione delle cassapanche, ora rivestite in ecopelle chiara che si sposano perfettamente con le tonalità delle sedute curatissime nell’ergonomia. A proposito di sedute, nella stagione entrante sarà disponibile tra le opzioni un elegante rivestimento grigio in ecopelle . Sono ben sei le scelte tra i tessuti, tre serie e tre opzionali, due in ecopelle e una in vera pelle.

K-Yacht Tekno Line: cercasi camperista esperto

La novità arriva dai K-Yacht Tekno Line, che fa compiere l’atteso balzo in avanti a quello che è il prodotto di eccellenza di Mobilvetta. Un prodotto che offre tutta l’estetica e molte delle funzionalità dei veicoli Premium ad un prezzo da fascia media: per intenderci si parla di circa 77 mila euro con motorizzazione da 130 cavalli, dotazione full optional e un’infinità di soluzioni interessanti. Si tratta di una scocca completamente nuova allestita sullo scudato ribassato del Fiat Ducato, motorizzato di serie con il 130 cavalli, sul quale esordisce la scatolatura del controtelaio da 130 mm con pannelli di Exlite, un polipropilene a struttura alveolare con doti di grande rigidità.

Una buona base : questo materiale migliora dunque la reazione rispetto alle sollecitazioni della torsione oltre a contribuire all’isolamento termico e acustico. Ma non solo: nel doppio pavimento passano le condutture della caldaia Truma Combi da 6 kw contribuendo all’uniformità del calore percepito a bordo. E a proposito di calore dal pavimento: di serie è prevista la serpentina elettrica con alimentazione da 220 Volt. L’intercapedine ha permesso anche di creare un vano tecnico dove si concentrano alimentatore, fusibili e tutto il cuore dell’impianto elettrico ed elettronico di bordo, così come, all’interno della cassapanca alle spalle del sedile passeggero, è presente una botola dove è collocata la batteria di servizio. Ci sono tutti i presupposti, dunque, per considerare questo veicolo perfetto per le vacanze sulla neve e, anche se il serbatoio delle acque reflue è esposto verso l’esterno per il 25% della sua struttura, questa è realizzata in materiale coibentante e comunque all’interno del serbatoio è presente la resistenza riscaldante a 12 volt.

Quello dei vani di carico è uno dei plus di questa versione. Oltre al vano garage posteriore colloca tra i due assi due gavoni alla base della scocca sul lato destro e sul lato sinistro con capacità importanti. Misurano sul lato sinistro105 centimetri di lunghezza per 31 di altezza e 30 di profondità, mentre sul lato destro misurano 50 centimetri di lunghezza (i tre modelli a passo medio) o 70 centimetri (i due modelli a passo lungo) per 31 centimetri di altezza e 33 di profondità. Lo sportello è ricavato nella bandellatura sottoscocca realizzata in alluminio così come su tutti i modelli Mobilvetta.

Una solida struttura : oltre a pareti e pavimento, anche il tetto è realizzato con il sistema i-Tech 4.0 , con accoppiamento tra pareti e tetto a 180 gradi come sui profilati. Il frontale è inedito e realizzato in vetroresina. Nella mascherina, che sembra scolpita, si inseriscono i faretti di grande efficacia estetica e visiva. Il parabrezza incollato ha una maggiore superficie visiva rispetto il cugino K-Yacht. Saltano subito all’occhio i generosi paraspruzzi delle ruote anteriori che contribuiscono a conferire il carattere sportivo del Tekno Line, come i cerchi Fiat in lega da 16 pollici di serie e, sulla parete posteriore, la massiccia cornice costituita dalle calate in abs di colore grigio che integrano avveniristici gruppi ottici a Led e nella parte superiore integrano la predisposizione per la retrocamera. Lungo le pareti le finestre Seitz con vetro a filo di scocca. La zona guida ha la porta solo dal lato del guidatore, mentre sul lato passeggero è ricavato il vano porta bombola.

Tutto di serie : grandissima la dotazione di serie compresa nel prezzo e che contribuisce rendere i Tekno Line dei motorhome particolarmente interessanti. Lungo il parabrezza di serie è presente il sistema di oscuranti frontali e laterali plissettati; in zona guida una coppia di comodi sedili Aguti con cinture integrate e piastra girevole. Il volante e il pomello del cambio sono rivestiti in pelle, il cruscotto ha la finitura color bronzo con strumenti con cornice cromata e climatizzatore automatico monozona. Come già accennato il piano di calpestio è riscaldato elettricamente. All’esterno è presente, oltre alla scatola con le prese elettriche e per le antenne, anche l’attacco per la doccetta con miscelatore per acqua calda e fredda. Questione di stile : nello stile a bordo si riconosce la parentela stretta con il K-Yacht, anche se è nei dettagli che si vedono le differenze: le ante della cucina e della zona notte sono anche qui bianco lucido ma hanno trasversalmente una fascia color ciliegio lucido e con fregi cromati, mentre l’anta curva del blocco cucina qui è in ciliegio lucido, esattamente come la finitura dei pensili. Lo stesso per il pannello del grande mobile a cestelli estraibili presente a fianco del frigorifero a colonna.

I cinque modelli : propongono soluzioni anche piuttosto originali. È il caso del MH 80 con doppia dinette, nel senso che oltre alla classica dinette anteriore con tavolo centrale, ce né una seconda in coda costituita da una seduta a L introno ad un secondo tavolo centrale. Al centro, da una parte la cucina lineare, dall’altra il vano toilette che integra la doccia. E i letti? Oltre al classico basculante c’è un saliscendi posteriore. Insomma, massimo convivio con gli amici, soluzione perfetta per la famiglia o motorhome per separati in casa: scegliete voi a quale tipo di equipaggio appartenete, sta di fatto che questo modello che sfiora i sette metri di lunghezza offre soluzioni davvero per tutti compreso un gavone posteriore con sportello da 80 x 71 centimetri che consente di stivare tutte le attrezzature necessarie per una vacanza serena. Gli altri modelli sono “già visti”: l’ MH-87 superclassico con letto posteriore trasversale; due soluzioni a letti singoli, l’ MH 85 con bagno diviso su due vani e il più compatto MH 84 con toilette in un solo vano e cucina lineare, e poi un bell’esempio di letto centrale, l’ MH 89 con bagno passante.

Kea M, mansardati di classe

Tre i modelli tra i mansardati e tutti sopra i sette metri di lunghezza. Il più “ordinario” è l’ M 74 , omologato per cinque persone e che si caratterizza per il classico matrimoniale in coda sopra il garage. La generosa dinette con tavolo centrale permette la trasformazione di un ulteriore letto. Al centro una confortevole cucina lineare che finisce con il frigo a colonna; sul lato opposto il vano toilette al cui interno è presente la cabina doccia. Decisamente più elitari gli altri due modelli, l’ M 76 e l’ M 79 , il primo con camera da letto con letto centrale, il secondo con la coppia di letti longitudinali. Entrambi hanno la toilette suddivisa in due vani e la cucina a L alle spalle della seduta, anch’essa a L con tavolo centrale. Questi sono omologati per quattro persone.

Kea Profilati, il cavallo vincente

Riconfermata la collezione degli imponenti profilati Kea con letto saliscendi anteriore. Una collezione articolata su sei modelli, alcuni dei quali disponibili anche senza letto basculante anteriore. Le soluzioni abitative sono riassumibili in zone notte con letto centrale regolabile in altezza elettricamente quando occorre, spazio in garage (Kea P62, P63 e P69) e letti singoli (Kea P64 e P65). Una ha il letto matrimoniale trasversale ma accessibile su due lati (Kea P67), tra queste soluzioni possiamo scegliere due taglie. I modelli con lunghezza che sfiorano i sette metri (Kea P62 e P64) o quelli con scocca da 7 metri e 38 (Kea P63, P65 e P69).

Kea Yacht, il lusso per tutti

Come detto, i motorhome K-Yacht si avvantaggiano di un restyling leggero ma piuttosto efficace: oltre ad acquisire anche il tetto privo di elementi in legno, vede un nuovo piano cucina il laminato spazzolato grigio più arrotondato ed ergonomico rispetto alla serie kea. Inoltre, oltre al rivestimento in ecopelle delle cassapanche come sui Kea, anche l’anta curva del blocco cucina è laccata bianca, così come già erano i pensili e i cassetti.Non ci sono novità rispetto ai tre modelli di grossa taglia e che propongono i letti a isola sollevabili elettricamente e la sala da bagno trasversale (MH-79 e MH-89) o i letti singoli con doccia e toilette opposti (MH 85).
