Sequoia and his crew were very accommodating. My wife had been in an accident and was wearing a cast. They made sure they used the utmost care in getting her on and off the boat. The weather was beautiful and we toured the harbor and they gave us a history of some of the tall ships and wooden boat yard. The recommendation for lunch at the Black Dog was great. Fun time _/)
We were very impressed with Capt Mike! His communication was impeccable! Incredibly responsive! His boat was very clean! He was very kind and understanding. He took us on a lovely tour out of Mashpee! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Would HIGHLY recommend hiring Capt Mike for your charter. Seriously an amazing afternoon.

We had such a fun time with Captain Bill! This was the perfect outing for our group of 7. Captain Bill had great music and a very clean boat. Awesome time overall. We would recommend Captain Bill to anyone looking to have a fantastic day on the water.
August, 2022
Bill was very gracious and accommodating. He shared his knowledge and enthusiasm for the water with our young children and us equally well. We had an amazing afternoon that included catching fish and seeing some beautiful and secluded spots - in both Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.
2d time with Captain William and once again, he did not disappoint. Took 6 kids with us and we had a blast tubing and fishing. We all left with huge smiles on our faces and lifelong memories. William was a true pro, accommodating, and a fabulous tour guide.
August, 2021
Top notch from dock to dock. Bill was friendly and knowledgeable and professional and safe and fun and everything else you’d want in a charter captain. The boat was spotless… and fast!… and both kids an adults alike had a blast. Hands down the best day of our weeklong Cape vacation.

Sail With Us
"life is either a daring adventure or nothing".
Helen Keller coined the phrase and we totally agree. At Sail The Vineyard, we take life on as a daring adventure and embrace all that means. We are a unique all-female crew, led by an adventurous, accomplished female captain who splits her time between Martha’s Vineyard and The Caribbean. Our captain is not only a US Coast Guard Master Mariner and Royal Yachting Association Yachtmaster, she is the only Certified instructor on Martha’s Vineyard, credentialed by the American Sailing Association. She takes great pride in mentoring sailors and particularly enjoys mentoring other female sailors.
The thrill of sailing aboard our sleek, fast classic sloop-rigged sailboat is the perfect adventure for your vacation to the Martha's Vineyard. Exploring the beauty & history of the Vineyard by sea is a special experience you won't forget. The picturesque coastline of lighthouses, historic homes, and beautiful beaches are just a few of the beloved sights of the area. Embrace adventure yourself and feel the thrill of the wind in your hair, find your inner mermaid, and maybe learn the art and science of sailing.
"The Sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever"
Let us show you the magic of the sea on one of our sailing excursions. Breathe in the salt air and find your inner mermaid! Enjoy snacks or a picnic lunch while under way, listen to the ocean as it swooshes by and feel the wonder of the vessel as the wind fills the sails and carries you away.
To some, it's just water. For us, it's a place to regain sanity
We all need a little help regaining sanity now and then. The constant pull of technology - cell phones, email, social media - often prevent us from living in the moment. Unplug with us. Unwind for a few hours or an afternoon and regain your sanity.
For Your Safety
We are fully compliant with all current regulations for charter boats and carry a maximum of 6 guests per the U.S. Coast Guard Code of Federal Regulations, Subchapter C.

About Martha’s Vineyard
Why is Martha's Vineyard a good sailing destination?
Martha’s Vineyard, an island jewel off the coast of Massachusetts, is a haven for sailing aficionados and maritime enthusiasts. This enchanting isle, awash with sandy beaches, tranquil coves, and quintessential New England charm, presents a sailing playground that beckons with a promise of adventure, serenity, and indelible memories. With Yachting.Rent as your partner, navigating these crystalline waters becomes an experience of unparalleled beauty, seamlessly blending the thrill of the sea with the allure of the island’s tapestry of wonders.
The waters surrounding Martha’s Vineyard offer a kaleidoscope of sailing experiences. The island’s diverse coastline guarantees something for every sailor, from the novice to the seasoned veteran. Venture north, and the Vineyard Sound provides a bustling maritime corridor, alive with yachts, fishing boats, and the iconic ferries. To the south, the Atlantic Ocean unveils its vast expanse, challenging and thrilling in equal measure, offering sailors a taste of open sea navigation. For those seeking a more tranquil experience, the numerous harbors and bays, such as Edgartown Harbor and Menemsha Pond, present perfect anchorage spots, where one can lay back and let the island’s rhythms dictate the pace.
Yet, Martha’s Vineyard isn’t just about the water; it’s about the land’s embrace once you set foot ashore. The island, steeped in history and culture, offers a treasure trove of experiences. From the gingerbread cottages of Oak Bluffs, the serenity of the Japanese Garden in Tisbury, to the historic charm of Edgartown, there’s a narrative waiting to be discovered at every corner. The island’s culinary scene is a delight for the senses, with seafood, especially the Martha’s Vineyard Bay scallops, being a must-try. The myriad art galleries, museums, and local events ensure that there’s always something happening, making the island as enticing on land as it is on water.
Choosing Martha’s Vineyard as your sailing destination with Yachting.Rent ensures not just a journey across water, but a dance with nature, history, and culture. As you unfurl the sails and chart your course, you’re not just navigating the seas but stepping into a story, an adventure that encapsulates the magic of New England. With its blend of maritime challenges and shoreside wonders, Martha’s Vineyard stands as a testament to the timeless allure of sailing, making it a quintessential destination for those looking to capture the essence of the sea and the soul of an island.

What Choose
Sailing boat or Catamaran, what to sail in Martha's Vineyard
Navigating the pristine waters of Martha’s Vineyard can be a transcendent experience, but choosing the right vessel can define your journey. At Yachting.Rent, we believe in helping our clients find the perfect fit, ensuring that their maritime adventures are nothing short of exceptional. As the azure waves of Massachusetts beckon, two prime choices emerge for avid sailors: the classic sailing boat and the contemporary catamaran. Both vessels have their distinct allure, and understanding their unique attributes can pave the way for a memorable voyage around this iconic island.
The sailing boat, a symbol of maritime tradition, offers a blend of romance and adventure. Its monohull design, with sails billowing against the horizon, is a sight to behold. Sailing boats ensure a direct connection to the sea, where every gust of wind and wave can be felt. This visceral feel of the water makes them a favorite among purists. Their narrower design allows for easier navigation through tighter spaces, making them ideal for exploring the many hidden coves and inlets of Martha’s Vineyard. On the flip side, their deep keels demand a sailor’s attention in shallow areas. However, for those who relish the challenge and the intimate connection with the ocean’s rhythms, sailing boats are unparalleled.
On the other hand, the catamaran stands as a testament to modern innovation in maritime design. With its twin hulls, the catamaran offers unmatched stability, making it a top choice for those who prioritize comfort and space. The wide deck and the trampoline area provide ample room for relaxation, sunbathing, or even a seaside picnic. Catamarans boast shallower drafts than their monohull counterparts, allowing them to venture closer to shore and anchor in shallow bays. Inside, they often feature spacious cabins and luxury amenities, ensuring that the journey is as delightful as the destination. Their stability and speed make them especially suitable for families or groups seeking a smooth and swift sailing experience.
In conclusion, the choice between a sailing boat and a catamaran often boils down to personal preference and the kind of experience one seeks. At Yachting.Rent, we pride ourselves on understanding our clients’ visions and helping them bring those dreams to life. Whether you’re chasing the thrill of traditional sailing around Martha’s Vineyard or seeking the luxurious comfort of a catamaran, our fleet is equipped to provide the perfect vessel for your escapade. As the sails unfurl against the Massachusetts sky and the horizon beckons, remember that with Yachting.Rent, every journey is a masterpiece waiting to unfold.

Sailing and Martha’s Vineyard go together like two peas in a pod.
(Make that "two clams and a cod.") Coming to the Vineyard and missing an opportunity to sail this 105' puppy would be like visiting Niagara Falls, NY, and not seeing a waterfall.
We offer ultimate, enviable sailing aboard a sweet and powerful, custom built, 5-spreader mega-yacht designed with you in mind for friendly and hardy, (can we add "invigorating?"), island passage-making.
"MT-105" is on the ”To Do/Bucket list”
of every sailor and non sailor alike. She's standing tall for all those living and loving the "island life," who keep coming back for more positive identity and peace of mind.
We specialize in a variety of short, protected sails that will glide you and your friends (as if on a huge, fantasy kite) across Vineyard Sound and through the remote and pristine Elizabeth Islands for swim, cook out or a mini-adventure ashore......with time frame to match your budget.
Ever been to Cuttyhunk? Most haven't, (including Vineyarders). It's the Cape and Islands' best kept secret. You'll find out why when you get there. Accessible only by boat to those with the means and determination. And what better way, more traditional (and romantic), to preserve such a treasure island than to get there by sail? And what better sailboat ride than aboard the highly evolved, finely tuned "MT-105?" We work in harmony with the elements; with the environment; with clean and quiet, renewable wind power;
using the wind ......but not using it up. Instead of island hopping, however, if the wind is right and the sailing perfect, (as is so often the case), why not take advantage of the moment and just keep on sailing for the afternoon? Who needs Cuttyhunk? (We'll catch it next time around.) We can be as spontaneous as you want and we are as flexible as our schedule allows.
Your boat, your call.
Either way, it's all healthy, refreshing fun in the sun. You and your family/friends deserve no less. Our prices and the feel-good quality of what we have to offer simply can’t be matched.
For the more adventurous we provide longer, more exposed ocean sailing around the "Head," (outside Aquinnah), past Nomans and eastward along the South Shore. Circumnavigate Martha's Vineyard and/or, (sailing through Wood’s Hole), the Elizabeth islands.
Sail to Nantucket for dinner and a night out on the town. Roam the cobblestone, then, for a taste of "cruising life," crash aboard the elegant "MT-105" in snug, historically acclaimed harbor, waking up to blueberry pancakes hot off the grill before sailing back to Menemsha.
Sail Vineyard Sound, Nantucket Sound, Buzzards Bay or sleigh ride the sweet ground swells of the Atlantic Ocean by moonlight. (Talk about somethin’ to talk about!)
On "MT-105" we do it all. 1-hour sails, 2-hour sails, 1/2 day sails, all-day sails, sunrise sails, sunset sails, moonlight bundle-up sails, overnight sails, pick up/drop off destination sails, birthday sails, bachelorette sails, wedding-proposal sails, wedding sails, memorial sails, out of this world sails; the best of any and all kinds of sails and the best sailing of all.....at a price you can afford.
And speaking of prices, here's the best part: we cut out the middle broker saving you all commission fees and communication hassles, keeping our prices lower and allowing you to deal directly with us. And get this: the more in advance you book your sail and the more frequently you come back to sail with us..(again and again).... the less you pay per sailing hour. Hey, when you come back, we've got your back.
(WARNING: sailing "MT-105" can be very addicting!)
And how about this? If your family budget stands in the way, we'll put that gang of yours to work and barter for some good ole' fashion "elbow grease." Bitcoin anyone? How about gold doubloons? Let's make this happen!
Check out our new, consumer-friendly Rescheduling and Cancellation Insurance policies, the most flexible and reassuring in the industry, (setting yet another standard), allowing you to book ahead with confidence, leaving you more options for the weather of your choice as opposed to the weather you have been dealt.
We offer Public Sails and Private Charters for up to 6 guests, in full accordance/compliance with all US Coast Guard Rules and Regulations. Or, you can "bare boat" with demise charter contract agreement with up to 12 in party.
All sails come with USCG licensed Captain. That would be yours truly, “Admirable” Nick himself, at your service; as well, (if you're lucky), with first mate extraordinaire and social director, Charlie make-'em-laugh Harari whose unique perspective on life and living and whose sailing acumen are truly legendary and known up and down the entire Atlantic Coast (both hemispheres), if not the world over.
We sail from Menemsha, Martha’s Vineyard,
.....where the winds are more favorable
and the setting more enticing and memorable.
Featuring live music
with pick-any-song “Nick & The Pirates.” (If we don't know it you get to pick another.)
Let the (“pirate”) crew be you (or you may opt for additional, hired crew.)
Sailing is man in harmony with his environment. To experience some of the best sailing on this planet...let the party begin here and now. Give us a call so we can get you up to speed and help champion your ability to turn dream into reality. You can do this, and for introducing them to "MT -105" your good buddies are gonna luv ya' all the more for it.
We're happy to answer any and all of your questions and assist you in any way we can.

The Tabernacle
Nestled in the community of Oak Bluffs, the Tabernacle is the centerpiece of a historical area known as the Campground, and is also home to clusters of iconic gingerbread cottages. Built in 1879, this meticulously preserved wrought iron structure still serves as a house of worship and community gathering place, as it has for generations. Concerts, lectures, and other live performances are held here, as well as weekly services, and has been designated as a National Historic Landmark.
The Flying Horses Carousel
Built in 1876, The Flying Horses Carousel is the oldest platform carousel in the nation. It was originally featured on Coney Island and then relocated to its present home in Oak Bluffs in 1884. The craftsmanship and artistry of the horses is stunning and features real horse hair tails, hand-painted flourishes, and inset glass eyes. The carousel remains open to the public for rentals and special events.

- The Sankaty ferry will likely be sent to Fairhaven as a backup boat when the Steamship Authority recieves its new ferries.
Vineyard Haven Slip Work Scheduled to End in May
Ethan genter.
- Tuesday, April 9, 2024 - 4:15pm
Repairs to one of the Steamship Authority’s slips in Vineyard Haven are on track to wrap up next month, ferry line officials said this week.
At the Steamship Authority’s advisory port council meeting Tuesday, representatives heard about the progress, as well as the ferry Woods Hole’s recent crash into the other working slip.
On March 25, the Woods Hole ferry hit the open Vineyard Haven slip during a storm, causing damage to the vessel’s rub rail. A temporary fix for the ferry was approved by the Coast Guard and it is back in service, though it will need periodic inspections.
Steamship chief operating office Mark Higgins said the crash wasn’t hard and there was no human error.
“We did a review of the video to see how the vessel came in and it looks like a normal docking,” he said.
The other slip has been out of commission since March so the Steamship Authority could replace a finger pier there. Work on that slip is scheduled to conclude on May 3, Steamship officials said Tuesday.
Having the port down to only one slip has caused ferry backups and schedule delays. In an attempt to alleviate the logjams, the Seastreak New Bedford ferry service has approached Oak Bluffs about returning to that town’s harbor earlier than anticipated and the Steamship Authority is readying its Oak Bluffs terminal to potentially open in a little over a week.
“We’re working to get it open as soon as we can,” Mr. Higgins said.
The port council also heard about the status of two of the three new freight boats purchased in 2022, with one of the ferries potentially being ready for service on the Nantucket route by June.
A shipyard in Mobile, Ala. is currently working on two of the ferries, the Barnstable and Aquinnah, and some of the last rounds of work to convert the former oil rig vessels are expected to be completed in the coming months. If the Barnstable’s refitting is completed as scheduled for the end of May, the Steamship anticipates it would start plying the region’s waters around June 17.
The Steamship Authority purchased the three vessels to replace parts of the ferry line’s aging fleet.
The Alabama shipyard has been prioritizing getting the Barnstable ferry converted first, with the Aquinnah ferry afterwards. The Aquinnah is about two weeks behind the Barnstable, which could create a schedule crunch for retrieving the boat from Mobile during the busy summer season.
The Steamship Authority may have to hire a service to sail the boat to the Cape and Islands, Steamship Authority general manager Robert Davis said at the meeting.
“We won’t have the luxury of being able to take multiple crews off to send them down south and transport the boat over an eight-day period,” he said.
Once the boats arrive, Steamship crews will have to practice with them, learning how to load and unload them. Some practice on Nantucket has already begun, using cones to mark out the boat’s dimensions on land.
“There will be a learning curve,” Mr. Davis said.
The total cost for the boats, including a third freight vessel, comes to about $20 million apiece.
“We should be getting three vessels for essentially what we would spend to build one new boat,” Mr. Davis said.
Eventually, the Sankaty freight ferry is expected to be sent to the Steamship’s Fairhaven yard as a backup boat, and the Steamship is considering declaring the Katama and Gay Head ferries as surplus in an attempt to sell them.
“We’re looking at retaining the Sankaty as the spare, spare vessel,” Mr. Davis said. “But we continue to evaluate that.”

‘Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard’ Exclusive: A “Traumatized” Shanice Henderson Confronts Alex Tyree For Digging Into Past Stalking Allegations
T he Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard crew is back in Oaks Bluffs and living it up! As the group enjoys fun in the sun in a ginormous new vacation rental, they try to move forward with their friendships and leave drama in the past. However, to truly start afresh, the friends must first address what soured their relationships in the first place. After Jordan Emanuel’s and Jasmine Ellis Cooper’s tense conversation during a boat trip about authenticity, the two ladies are now able to peacefully co-exist. Summer Marie Thomas exploded at Alex Tyree for snubbing her last fall, and the underlying tension between the former friends with benefits was relieved.
In this exclusive clip from this Sunday’s all-new episode, Tyree is back in the hot seat at a cast dinner. The scene begins with Emanuel addressing Tyree as the music intensifies in the background. “While we’re keeping it honest, you had me completely fucked up with the [CENSORED] situation,” Emanuel continues: “You called me toxic the first time you met me; you judged me the first time you met me.” House mate Shanice Henderson jumps in, telling Tyree: “You judged me the first time you met me.” Emanuel then sticks up for Henderson. “You googled her,” Emanuel points out.
The camera then cuts to Tyree’s confessional interview. “Before I met Shanice last summer, I got news that her ex had accused her of stalking him.” A flashback then appears of Tyree telling the group what he found out about Henderson: “There are articles out there about how she is a stalker and there’s a restraining order against her.” Tyree explained: “I didn’t know Shanice so I didn’t feel quite comfortable having that conversation one on one with her.” He continued: “People knew it was going to come out, and I thought it would be good for her to own her narrative around it.”
We cut back to the intense dinner in progress. “Do we want to talk about the Shanice thing?” asks Tyree. “Let’s do it,” Emanuel replies coolly. “I didn’t google any of you; I only knew that shit because of Nick [Arrington],” says Tyree. As Arrington’s brow furrows in confusion, Tyree keeps going. “And that’s your boy,” snaps Tyree. “Then why did you say it,” presses Emanuel. “I’m tired of people bringing it up and saying I googled people. I didn’t google people,” insists Tyree. “I brought it up because I was trying to protect her and let her know people are googling her.”
“Protect me?” asks Henderson in shock. “You traumatized me, Alex,” cries Henderson. “It’s back on Google. Anytime anyone googles me, that comes back up,” says Henderson. “Like, that’s traumatizing. Like, my anxiety is horrible from that.” Henderson continues: “Any guy I date, they’re like, what happened with this?” As the group rallies to comfort Henderson, Tyree can only sit there. Tune in to Bravo this Sunday night at 9/8c to find out what happens next.

What remains constant, however, is the longstanding allure of the resort island, reached from Cape Cod by a 45-minute ferry ride. For centuries movers and shakers of all stripes, including United States presidents , have staked out spots along the sand spits.
After years of annual holidays on the island, Barack and Michelle Obama bought a secluded 29-acre spread for $11.75 million in 2019 along Edgartown Great Pond. The 890-acre pond, surrounded by some of Martha Vineyard’s most expensive homes, is set behind a barrier beach that separates it from the Atlantic Ocean.

The estate enjoys more than 1,000 feet of pond frontage with tree-framed views taking in Lyles Bay, a curved sliver of sand called Swan Neck Point, the main pond, the barrier beach and the ocean beyond.

Stone walls enclose specimen fruit trees, meadows, a large field and lily pond. There’s a swimming pool with a pool house. Martha’s Vineyard Airport and central Edgartown are both nearby.
The curved design of the home creates multiple cozy sitting areas with scenic views.
Beyond the acreage, quality construction, amenities and artful design, it is the attributes of the location that may make the property a standout to a buyer, says listing agent Robert Kenney of Tea Lane Associates . “To me, the strongest selling point is the pond and beach frontage, access and views.”
Among those he says will most likely be interested in the property are homeowners looking to acquire more substantial properties, those who have rented luxury homes in the area and the family and friends of current owners.
Specimen trees create a natural privacy screen for the swimming pool and pool house.
“Knowledgeable people who appreciate the value and attraction of the Vineyard compared to other second home areas,” Kenney says. “Boldwater is a remarkable paradise in a convenient location.”
Made up of two abutting properties, the estate in Edgartown bears two addresses—32 Boldwater Road and 3 Jacobs Neck Road. The house sits on 21 acres. The smaller 14-acre portion of the estate could be subdivided. The asking price is $11.375 million.
