Space Yacht Celebrates 100th Release with New ‘A Sequence In Time’ Compilation
The third volume of A Sequence In Time marks a milestone for Space Yacht and features LUMBERJVCK, Vyhara, RANKZ, Kyral X Banko, and more.
Just a few short years ago, Space Yacht opened up a new chapter for the brand by launching a record label. Since then, Henry Lu and Rami Perlman have been a force to be reckoned with as the two continue to showcase their passion for supporting a wide range of genres and artists of all sizes through the imprint’s releases. Now, Space Yacht is celebrating its milestone hundredth release, and they’ve curated a hearty helping of bass for the third volume of A Sequence In Time .
Past iterations of A Sequence In Time have featured some seriously impressive tunes from dubstep, drum and bass, and trap artists, and the third in the series pulls no punches. DMTR and Skorpion lead the charge with plenty of drum and bass energy as “ You Got Me ” begins to fill speakers. The broken beat and flurry of chopped up vocals make this one stand tall as the two artists set the tone for what’s to come.
DEUCEZ delivers a dose of groovy dubstep on “ Higher ” that will have you wobbling along with its beat. But if 140 sounds are more up your alley, then A Sequence In Time Vol. 3 will satiate all of your cravings with the tunes from BASSGALAXY and Noiz-E-Boi , RANKZ , HMEWRK. , Vyhara , and Cavemen . All of these artists throw down some deep wubs that you can’t help but bop your head to.
As for some standouts, Kyral X Banko and Rivibes ‘ closing tune for the compilation, “ Control ,” features a sick lyrical flow that pairs perfectly with its subterranean bassline. LUMBERJVCK also shows off some impressive basslines with the ever-heavy “ TESLA ” and caps everything off by taking the reins of this edition’s mega mix to seamlessly showcase all the tracks.
Listen to A Sequence In Time Vol. 3 on Spotify or your preferred platform , and follow Space Yacht on social media for more releases and show announcements!

Here's What Your $5 Billion Space Yacht Could Look Like
Spencer's proposed space super yacht Destiny is designed to cruise in Earth's orbit, offering a striking view of our planet. In illustrations, the 300-foot-long ship cuts a remarkable profile—its bulbous body seems almost butterfly-like, with its four sails outstretched like wings in midflight. Like PayPal Galactic, Destiny is an idea for a market that doesn't exist yet. Still, this image of Destiny offers a glimpse into John Spencer's vision of spacefaring luxury, one he's been working toward for decades.
"We're getting into things that have probably never ever been thought of before from a real world perspective," he says. "All the things we take for granted we have to redesign."
For Destiny, this includes how the beds will be designed to prevent passengers from drifting away in their sleep, and how dining rooms will be laid out so food won't float away. Even the material Destiny will be made of has yet to be invented. While many of his designs seem to be far-fetched today, Spencer is hopeful that the space yacht will be real and in orbit within 15 years.
The ship's hull will be made of a dozen spheroid inflatable sections, which will be expanded and fused together in orbit. Destiny is meant to stay in space after being built and never reenter Earth's atmosphere, so the body sections must maintain their shape and integrity in the vacuum environment of space over the course of the yacht's life.
Spencer, a space architect and designer by trade, wrote in his book Space Tourism: Do You Want to Go? that spherical structures are ideal for space because their symmetry makes them stable and strong. Each section will have an interior webbed support that will limit how far it can expand.
"The sections of the yacht, some of them are just large volumes, some of them have multiple rooms, it depends on where you are," Spencer said. "Aft is for crew quarters and storage, front is for entertainment."
Power and Propulsion
Because Destiny will be an orbital yacht, it will not need the massive engines and large fuel reserves required to escape Earth's atmosphere. In fact, it won't have an engine at all. The ship will be outfitted with maneuvering modules with thrusters. The modules, which will be 2-feet deep, 2-feet wide, and 4-feet long, will be positioned strategically along the hull. Should the ship need to maneuver to avoid space debris or another ship, the modules can be operated wirelessly from the bridge. Spencer says that he is exploring the use of flywheels to power the thrusters.
In fact, Spencer envisions his space yacht as totally wireless. There will be no single power distribution system—long-life batteries will power all of the ship's 300 to 400 electrical devices. Each water and waste-management unit is self-contained with its own recycling, purification system, and reserve water supply. "[It] frees the designers to get pretty outrageous in terms of design because you're not dealing with strict plumbing and electrical," Spencer says.
As the batteries run out of juice, they will be brought to a charging station by a small army of service robots. The bots will also monitor the water and waste-management systems.
Destiny's four distinctive sails are more than ornamentation. They'll double as solar panels, absorbing the light and heat from the sun and using some of the power generated to charge the batteries onboard, while dissipating the excess. Spencer doesn't know what the material he'll need for Destiny's sails or hull will actually look like. Undeterred, he has dubbed the yet-to-be-discovered material Futuretanium. No word yet whether it will be an alloy of unobtanium.
Float Sphere
Passengers will be able to enjoy the benefits of zero gravity in the orb situated in the middle of Destiny's hull. The 60-foot-wide float sphere will offer 120-degree views outward and toward Earth. Spencer describes it as a "big friggin' open space where you can really experience zero gravity" and float around. "Living in zero gravity is the most unique experience you can have going to space," he says. "That's why the float sphere is such a prominent aspect of Destiny's design."
Creature Comforts
Destiny wouldn't deserve the classification of super space yacht if it didn't come with a few space-age amenities. Airflow will be monitored by mobile airflow compensators, or "bugs," that will silently follow passengers around to keep the air comfortable, dispensing hot or cold air as needed and responding to voice commands.
In Spencer's vision for the ship, Destiny's hospitality staff will offer massages, chefs will be brought on board to provide meals, and astronomy experts will explain to passengers what they are seeing as the gaze out the viewports.
There will even be a floating hot tub in the float sphere, though an orbital spa won't look quite like its earthbound counterparts. Spencer's plan for the "Hot Sphere" involves a layer of water surrounding a mechanical sphere, which heats the water and sprays bubbles. No solid outer layer is needed since water naturally forms a sphere in zero gravity. Gyroscopes will keep the mobile Jacuzzi in place.
And Finally, Price
All this innovation will be expensive. Anyone looking to buy a Destiny-class space yacht will have to cough up a cool $5 billion to $6 billion. It's enough to make the six-figure price tag people are paying to book a seat on the first suborbital tourism flights look like a bargain.
Why the name "Destiny," anyway? Spencer had two reasons: "It was literally my destiny to work on these things. Plus anyone who is going to spend five or six billion bucks on one of these things is going to have a bit of an ego and will want a cool name."

Interview: Space Yacht Co-Founders Rami Perlman & Henry Lu On The Secrets To Their Success
Los Angeles locals know the underground staple and mid-week party trailblazers Space Yacht . Formed in 2015 by founders Rami Perlman and Henry Lu, it’s a powerhouse organization in the scene supporting up-and-coming artists until they become huge stars.
Space Yacht has also thrown events all over the world , expanding to highlight locals in Vegas, New York, Seattle, San Francisco, and international destinations like China, Taiwan, Singapore, and more.
Furthermore, they’re known for their successful Tune Reactor series on Twitch where new producers can send in their tracks for feedback and advice, but the pair also frequently sign music to their label Space Yacht Records on the spot during Tune Reactor broadcasts
We sat down with Space Yacht’s founders Rami Perlman and Henry Lu to talk about their event philosophy, how they keep their shows fresh, and their upcoming Space Yacht 360 show at AREA15 in Las Vegas:
EDM Maniac: So let’s start from the beginning. How did you two meet and how did you get your start with music event organization?
Rami Perlman: We met at a startup company that we were both working at that focused on running social media accounts for celebrities and big musicians. I was in the music department and Henry was in the data analytics department. But we became friends through music.
We’d both be staying late and I’d be cranking music in my office. I had started my DJ project, LondonBridge , around the same time. So I’d play him stuff I was working on and that’s kind of how we became friends.
In terms of how Space Yacht started, selfishly I was very interested in launching my DJ project and I didn’t want to beg people to play shows. I just loved the idea of starting a party and then Henry had experience in doing that.
We then happened to meet a person who had a new venue called the Golden Box and he was like, “Hey, come throw your party at my place. I just opened this speakeasy in Hollywood.” And the first one did so well that the owner of the club came up to me and was like, “You gotta do this every week.”
EDM Maniac: You’ve become staples of the LA underground scene throwing sold-out midweek parties with secret lineups of top names. What would you say is integral to your success?
Henry Lu: I want to say consistency. We have stayed very consistent in the sense that it’s always fresh and new.
Part of our identity is we’re oftentimes the first co-sign. So as these new sounds from new DJs crop up, we have our way of interacting with them either through our curations or getting to know them over time.
Rami Perlman: Yeah we want to be a platform for an artist that’s just starting and I think our value in the ecosystem is that first co-sign.
At this point, three years down the line of doing our Tune Reactor series on Twitch, 95% of what we signed to our labels comes from the show.
Henry Lu: Yeah and we’re eight and a half years in and a lot of the people that we worked with five or six years ago are superstars.
EDM Maniac: You’re constantly hosting events and you have stages at all these huge festivals. How do you keep everything fresh and new?
Henry Lu: There isn’t a day where we’re not listening to new stuff. And with Tune Reactor, now we have a system of actually giving feedback.
Rami Perlman: It’s also because we have many disciplines. We throw events, we have a clothing company, we have a record label. That stuff I think is also a way that our team stays fresh because in our morning meetings, it’s always something different.
We’re able to take our brains into different places as a way to not be always under the same pressure. When you have a great show, you pat yourself on the back for like five minutes with a beer after the show, and then you’re literally thinking about the next one.
The other thing I will say, even specific to our Vegas show that’s coming up, we really do a lot of due diligence on who’s doing what locally in terms of the artists. A lot of our shows, outside of Los Angeles specifically, are very focused on making three of the five slots locals on purpose.
Sometimes it’s people that we met through Tune Reactor or Henry will put up a tweet and be like, “Who’s popping in Tech House in Vegas?” And we go through that list very seriously. So the local aspect of what we do is another piece of this puzzle.
EDM Maniac: On June 23 you’ll be taking over the portal at AREA15 with DJ Susan and Kaysin and then later in July with Pickle . What can we expect from this 360-degree experience?
Henry Lu: The 360 brand was just something we came up with as a response to the YouTube-style set. Honestly, shout out to Boiler Room, huge inspiration. And a lot of DJs love just playing with no real barrier between them and the crowd.
Rami Perlman: We’ve had DJ Susan recently and both are incredible performers. And then the show after that, we have Pickle and he’s got incredible animators and visuals who work for his normal show and they are prepping for this one. And so I really think if you want a spectacle plus fantastic house, this is one to check out.
Henry Lu: To be able to find a venue that’s flexible enough to work with that adjusted staging, we’re really excited to get to flex this muscle at AREA15, specifically on the portal because it has these crazy 360 projections on every single wall.
And we’re a brand that also wants to be associated with helping people build a legacy. So to be able to do that a few times in Vegas is pretty exciting.
It’s a real spectacle so shout out to AREA15 for having us. We have these two shows coming up, but hopefully we have more for the rest of the summer and the fall.

Due to the international and fluid nature of the yachting business and the fact there is no global central industry listing service to which all charter yachts subscribe it is impossible to ascertain a truly up-to-date view of the market. We are a news and information service and not always informed when yachts leave the charter market, or when they are recently sold and renamed it is not clear if they are still for charter. 10 Small Superyachts That Offer Supersized Interiors
Posted: June 21, 2023 | Last updated: June 21, 2023
Sunreef 100
For many yacht owners, the solution to finding more space aboard for friends and family is summed up by that immortal line by Chief Brody in Jaws: “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.”
Until now, bigger has typically meant longer. But that’s quickly changing as more and more builders are creating interior volume by going wider and taller. For disrupter builder Wally Yachts and its polarizing new Wallywhy 150—which refers to its internal volume rather than the boat’s length—the quirky design is said to deliver 50 percent more space than more traditional 78-footers.
Other builders like Princess have been in the game since 2021. Its X95 first appeared several years ago, effectively throwing down the gauntlet as a way forward for sub-100-foot yachts to supersize both interior and exterior volumes.
Since then, many other builders of small superyachts have jumped on board, with designs that typically have somewhat bloated profiles, far-forward main suites, and open transoms—features all designed to maximize space but minimize length.
Here are 10 new yachts 100 feet and under that are breaking the mold in an attempt to dominate the nautical space race.
wallywhy150
It’s no wonder that disrupter Italian builder Wally—now part of the Ferretti Group—calls its latest head-turner a “spaceship.” Claiming up to 50 percent more space than comparable 78-footers, the 150 (named after interior volume rather than length) has standout features like a main salon with over eight feet of headroom, and a beam of more than 22 feet. The pragmatic design includes a one-level main deck attached to an open rear cockpit that offers easy access to the water. Its most noteworthy feature is the rule-breaking, full-beam master suite tucked into the bow on the main deck. It has wraparound glass—stretching all the way around the bow—for panorama-like views from the main bedroom. Priced from about $6.7 million.
Lazzara UHV 87
Short for Ultra High Volume, this new Turkish-built pocket superyacht is a sistership to Lazzara’s UHV 100 and 125 models. The newest Lazzara boasts an impressive 2,153 square feet of interior space in its 87-foot length. Arguably, the boat is not pretty in a classic sense. The towering hull sides, blunt, plumb bow, and dark-tinted glass make it look more like a dinner cruiser than a mini-superyacht. But the interior space is astonishing, from the cavernous Sky Lounge, with its floor-to-ceiling windows, to the salon with a separate, chandelier-lit dining area and chef’s galley. With a fuel capacity of 3,000 gals, the twin 1,000 hp Volvo D13s deliver a top speed of 16 knots. The boat also has transatlantic range. Base price starts at about $10.9 million.
Sunseeker 100 Yacht
Movie nights under the stars should have a whole new appeal aboard UK builder Sunseeker’s brand-new 98-footer. Lie back on the yacht’s extra-wide foredeck sunpad and watch the latest blockbuster on a 140-inch screen with laser projection. Or, if you’re the lucky owner, stargaze from your private terrace tucked away in the bow, just steps from the full-beam main-deck master suite, with atrium-style glass sliding doors. One of the best innovations here is the wide, uninterrupted walkway around the entire top deck, which provides safe, easy access from the flybridge to the forward entertaining space. With its twin 2,600 hp V16 MTU diesels, top speed is an impressive 29 knots. Priced from about $10.5 million.
Azimut Grande 26M
For its brand-new Grande 26M compact superyacht, Italian builder Azimut has gone extra wide to create massive interior and exterior spaces. Spatial highlights include a full-width flybridge that’s almost 20 feet across and close to 40 feet long, and a foredeck entertaining area that seems more like an outdoor patio. The Alberto Mancini-styled go-fast cruiser is crammed with space-enhancing innovations, such as a teak-decked garage door that, at the touch of a button, hinges upwards to extend the rear cockpit by almost five feet. New ZF pod drives coupled to the yacht’s twin 1,650 hp MAN V12 diesels also save space. It is priced from about $6.2 million.
Princess X95
As we said during our 2021 tour of Britain’s Princess Yachts’ tri-deck X95 “When it comes to the polarizing, head-spinning design, there are no half-measures, no in-betweens. You either love it. Or loathe it.” But what those eye-popping lines hide is perhaps the most spacious 95-foot luxury cruiser in the category. Reckoned to be some 40 percent roomier than cruisers with the same length, the X95 has stretch-out accommodations for up to 10 in five cabins and living spaces that rival most apartments. The flybridge covers almost the entire length of the yacht. The 100 is also fast, with twin 1,990 hp MAN V12s delivering a top speed of 23 knots. Prices start at about $12 million.
Extra X96 Triplex
This broad-beamed 96-footer is from the Italian builder Extra Yachts, which is part of the Palumbo Superyachts Group. While it’s called the Triplex, there are actually four levels if you include the cozy upper sundeck with its outdoor kitchen, dining area, and oversized sunpads. The exterior comes courtesy of Italian designer Francesco Guida, while interiors are by Milan-based Hot Labs. Both teams have made the most of the yacht’s class-leading 25-foot beam. Notable features include a vast full-beam master on the main level and an upper salon dedicated entirely to dining, with a table for 10, an open chef’s galley, and an adjoining outdoor bar. Twin Volvo IPS1350s deliver a 16.5-knot top speed. Priced from $12 million.
This Sunreef power catamaran’s beam spans a staggering 44 feet, offering the kind of interior and exterior spaces you only get with superyachts twice the length. Every element of the yacht is XXL-size—from the massive hydraulic swim platform to the full-width flybridge that covers almost 1,000 square feet. Down in the salon is a huge 11-seat U-shaped bar that would delight any mixologist. The five staterooms in the twin hulls have space for 10. A pair of 1,300 hp MAN V8 diesels delivers a six-knot top speed. It is priced from about $15.3 million.
Absolute Navetta 75
In Italian, the word “navetta” translates to “little ship.” Which is a perfect description for Absolute’s new 75-foot fast cruiser. It’s an evolution of the strong-selling Navetta 73 but with nearly two feet of extra length. The yacht’s expansive interior volumes will remain the same, with features like a forward master stateroom on its own level that has a private entrance steps away from the main salon. The salon features floor-to-ceiling glass, with full views of the water, courtesy of open bulwarks. Twin 1,000 hp Volvo IPS1350 diesels deliver a top speed of 25 knots. Pricing starts at about $4 million.
Arcadia A96
Cross a spacious Miami high-rise penthouse with a Canyon Ranch spa and the result could be this new 96-foot superyacht from Italian builder Arcadia. Boasting a remarkable 4,300 square feet of total living space, there’s room for 12 guests and five crew. And the living spaces even expand, courtesy of fold-down terraces in the main salon and on the rear deck. But the yacht’s focus on wellness and healthy living sets it apart. That expansive, teak-decked foredeck, spanning over 500 square feet, is perfect for yoga sessions or meditation, while the cockpit and beach club offer another 1,000 square feet of social space. For extra peace and quiet at anchor, solar panels can provide up to nine hours of generator-free power.
Numarine 26XP Fast
Think of it as offering pace, with space. Turkish yard Numarine has been building its bold 85-foot 26XP explorer style mini-superyacht since 2018, but later this year, it will launch the U.S.-focused 26XP Fast. Instead of slow-churning 435 hp diesels and nine-knot cruising, it’s bolting-in a pair of mighty 1,800 hp MAN V12s and modifying the hull to deliver a top speed of 31 knots. What hasn’t changed is the XP’s cavernous interior and expensive deck space. Take the top-deck flybridge which, thanks to the yacht’s 21-foot beam and far-forward helm, spans over 700 square feet. That space will include a dining table for eight, a full outdoor kitchen, and more lounges than a Saint-Tropez beach bar. Prices start from $6.95 million.

“It was created as the conduit for a thrilling experience—watching whales around the boat, dolphins surfing bow waves or passing glaciers in icy waters,” says Enrique Tintore, design manager for the Dutch line of expedition yachts , ranging from 197 to 345 feet. “The idea is to maximize the connection with nature, to look down over the front of the bow and feel an unusual connection. That’s something you can’t do on any other yacht.”
The open bows of Ferretti Yachts’ INFYNITO 90 , and recently announced INFYNITO 80, are less concerned with off-grid travel, but more about social possibilities. The 90 has an “All-Season Terrace” that connects directly with yacht’s outer passageways all the way back to the aft cockpit. The 90’s bow area is designed to be private, but still open, configured with lounges, a forward sunpad and Jacuzzi. Owners can even opt for a cocktail bar with stools. Like the Damen Xplorer, it has open sides and an open front, but the overhead offers protection with slats that can open if the owner and guests want direct sunlight. “We created it as an oasis to put the people living on board front and center,” says Ferretti’s Filippo Salvetti.
Both designers claim there are no structural downsides to these unusual bows, though Tintore admits that “green water” could wash over the front during rough-water crossings. “But guests can just step back into the enclosed observation lounge to enjoy the action with a cocktail.”

Delta IV Heavy launch: Scrub of historic launch, next attempt to be determined
Check back for live florida today space team launch updates on this page..
The wait will continue to see the powerful Delta IV Heavy rocket blast off on its retirement flight.
With minutes to go until the planned 2:45 p.m. target liftoff Thursday for the Delta IV Heavy and weather just at the edge of acceptable, the launch scrubbed. United Launch Alliance CEO Tory Bruno said winds exceeded the acceptable limit, causing a hold, and that was when a gaseous nitrogen pipeline ground pump failed. The pump provides pneumatic pressure to the launch vehicle systems.
ULA said they would do a 24-hour turnaround, and the launch was then planned for 1:37 p.m. Friday.
But Bruno later posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the "pump failed again ... Stand by."
Just before 8 p.m., ULA said they'd be standing down to continue to work on the pipeline.
"The team continues to troubleshoot the pipeline and more time is needed to instill confidence in the system," the company said in a statement. "We will continue to work with our customer to confirm our next launch attempt and a new date will be provided upon resolution."
There is launch attempt availability on Monday at 1:25 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration, but it's unknown whether ULA will be ready for that launch window. Stay tuned to FLORIDA TODAY Space Team's coverage of this end-of-an-era flight .
The Delta IV Heavy, which is bound for retirement , will send a classified payload into orbit for the National Reconnaissance Office on the NROL-70 national security mission.
Cape Canaveral: Is there a launch today? Upcoming rocket launch schedule for SpaceX, NASA in Florida
2:47 p.m.: SCRUB. 24 hour turn around at earliest
It's a scrub. There will be a 24-hour turnaround at the earliest. No launch today. The teams have begun de-tanking the fuel from the Delta IV Heavy rocket.
HOLD HOLD HOLD
Launch was put on hold. Countdown clock will be reset. Stay tuned.
2:38 p.m. Go to launch of Delta IV Heavy on its final launch
Final launch check: GO for launch!
The launch vehicle is ready to launch.
Weather is green right now. If that changes as the team proceeds toward the final minutes of launch, we'll hear the launch control room call "Hold. Hold. Hold." That will stop the countdown and keep the rocket on the pad at Launch Complex 37.
But right now, we're green and heading toward a 2:45 p.m. liftoff on the final flight of the Delta IV Heavy.
2:35 p.m. 10 minutes to final launch of Delta IV Heavy
We're 10 minutes from launch of the final Delta IV Heavy rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station Launch Complex 37. Launch target time is 2:45 p.m.
Weather remains near the limit acceptable for launch.
There is a longer window if needed but right now that 2:45 p.m. launch time remains the target.
2:30 p.m. Delta IV Heavy target launch 15 minutes away
Here are few things to keep in mind as we get closer to the target liftoff time at 2:45 p.m.
The countdown has proceeded smoothly other than weather concerns, and that's mainly wind at this point.
If we do get to launch today, the three RS-68A engines will fire at T- 5 Seconds to liftoff, giving off the thrust to push the three boosters off the pad. After liftoff, Delta IV Heavy will reach Maximum Dynamic Pressure (Max Q) at 1 minute and 20 seconds into the flight.
The crowds at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex are ready.
2:20 p.m. Winds still a concern for Delta IV Heavy launch
ULA says that Launch Weather Officer Mark Burger reported the current and forecast conditions are close to the threshold for acceptable criteria for the Delta IV Heavy liftoff at 2:45 p.m. today.
The team will continue to monitor the winds.
Stay tuned. At this point, no technical issues are being worked. It's all about the weather right now.
2:05 p.m. No tech issues being worked as Delta IV Heavy counts down
The Delta IV Heavy is counting down to its planned 2:45 p.m. liftoff. The one issue: weather.
Teams continue to monitor the weather.
Meanwhile, the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is jam-packed. It took our reporter, Brooke Edwards, two hours to get in. Excitement is building as the launch time approaches.
2 p.m.: Delta IV Heavy launch won't produce sonic booms
What can you expect with the final Delta IV Heavy launch: a powerful rocket that should soar into the sky after seeming to emerge from a cloud of fire. There will be a rumble and depending on where you are and the wind, it could be loud.
But what you shouldn't be waiting for: sonic booms. There are no sonic booms with this launch.
Why not? The rocket’s boosters will fall back out to sea. They are not reusable unlike SpaceX launches where the boosters sometimes come back for a landing at the Cape, triggering the sonic booms. Want to know more about sonic booms, click here .
Countdown continuing for 2:45 p.m. planned launch.
1:45 p.m. One hour to planned final launch of Delta IV Heavy; winds a concern
Launch team has entered the planned, built-in T-minus 4 minutes hold and now will sync up with the target launch time of 2:45 p.m.
United Launch Alliance says this built-in hold is designed to give their teams a bit of margin to deal with any problems. Also during this time, the final readiness polls of the launch team and members of the mission management team will be performed.
Launch is still targeting a 2:45 p.m. blast off from Launch Complex 37 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. ULA said they are not working any technical issues but winds remain a concern.
1:30 p.m. Experienced launch director overseeing final Delta IV Heavy launch
United Launch Alliance has a launch director with more than a dozen missions under his belt in charge of today's final launch of the Delta IV Heavy.
His name is Tom Heter III. His father, Tom Heter II, worked on Atlas and Titan rockets.
Countdown toward the 2:45 p.m. liftoff is proceeding.
1:20 p.m. Delta IV Heavy launching from Cape's Launch Complex 37
The Delta IV Heavy will be launching from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station's Launch Complex 37.
It was constructed in 1963 and used for uncrewed Apollo missions aboard Saturn I and IB rockets. Then it became home to the triple-core Delta IV Heavy rocket .
While previous iterations of rockets in the Delta family began launching from this pad in the early 2000s, they've all since been retired .
SpaceX is interested in possibly taking over this launch pad for i ts massive Starship rocket .

1:15 p.m. ULA CEO on final Delta IV Heavy "bittersweet" launch
Tory Bruno, the CEO and president of ULA, reflected on the Delta IV Heavy's success during a Wednesday afternoon press conference.
“It’s a bittersweet moment for us. This is such an amazing piece of technology. Twenty-three stories tall. Half a million gallons of propellant. Two and a quarter million pounds of thrust. And the most metal of all rockets —setting itself on fire before it goes to space," said Bruno.
The countdown is proceeding as planned toward a 2:45 p.m. scheduled liftoff.
1:05 p.m. Traffic backed up around Cape ahead of Delta IV Heavy launch
Our photographer, Craig Bailey, who is out at the Cape for the launch said it's packed. Our Space Reporter Brooke Edwards is making her way to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and said she's been stuck in traffic for awhile now.
Brevard County is crowded already with spring breakers from out of town, and our own public school students are on spring break this week, too.
Expect crowds at our beaches if you're going to watch. Here's a guide on where to go to see it. Scroll down for viewing locations.
1 p.m.: Weather is "green" now for final Delta IV Heavy launch
The weather is "green" now meaning there are no weather violations. That doesn't mean it's going to stay that way through the liftoff time. But we can hope!
ULA teams continue to make final preparations ahead of the planned 2:45 p.m. launch time.
"The standard post-fueling inspections of the rocket's outer thermal insulation is underway using launch pad cameras," ULA said. The cyrogenic tanks are covered with foam insulation to keep the fuel from warming up too quickly.
12:45 p.m: Two hours to final launch of Delta IV Heavy from Cape
We're two hours away from the final launch of the Delta IV Heavy. It's windy here on the Space Coast and weather remains the primary concern as the countdown proceeds.
With this flight, the storied Delta rocket program retires. It is being replaced by the Vulcan Centaur. The red-and-white Vulcan made its maiden flight from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on January 8 .
The Delta IV Heavy rocket first took to the skies over Cape Canaveral in 2004. Its first NRO mission from the Cape was in 2009.
The rocket today is, as ULA puts it, "loaded for launch." Weather still showing a "red" meaning no-go but there's time.
12:05 p.m. Weather currently "red" for launch but there's time to improve
The weather right now is currently "red" for launch which means no-go. But the launch target time is 2:45 p.m. so there's time to improve.
A cold front is moving through the Space Coast right now and that's what's causing the "red" weather conditions. Remember, there was only a 30 percent chance of acceptable weather for lift-off. The situation does improve if the launch moves to Friday to a 60 percent chance of good weather. But there's still plenty of time to hope for a liftoff today.
Noon: New liftoff time for Delta IV Heavy of 2:45 p.m.
From ULA: ULA Launch Director Tom Heter III has instructed the launch team to coordinate a new liftoff time of 2:45 p.m. EDT (1845 UTC) for the Delta IV Heavy rocket on the NROL-70 mission from Cape Canaveral.
11:50 a.m. Delta IV Heavy will launch secretive NRO mission
What's launching today on the Delta IV Heavy? We know it's a mission for the National Reconnaissance Office. Beyond that, not too much information has been released.
These are usual secretive missions. United Launch Alliance will be providing updates up to and throughout the launch but those will end with payload fairing separation at the request of the NRO.
W hat we do know is this mission has a cool emblem of a snow leopard. “The snow leopard illustrates the quiet strength with which we provide an advantage to the nation and its allies," the NRO said in a press release.
11:30 a.m. When Delta IV Heavy lifts off, get ready for massive power
The Delta IV Heavy has the reputation for being "the most metal of rockets" because it roars to life amid a blazing hydrogen fireball. It's a performance and today, if all things and especially weather cooperate, will be its final one.
The final step in the fueling operation is underway now, United Launch Alliance said. The team said they are loading 10,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen into the Delta Cryogenic Second Stage.
One thing to remember: the rocket uses three RS-68A main engines, which generate 2.1 million pounds of thrust at liftoff.
11:05 a.m. Liftoff time now targeting 2:03 p.m.
United Launch Alliance tweeted that we are now three hours from liftoff. A new liftoff time has been set at 2:03 p.m.
Weather remains the main concern.
11 a.m. Great White Shark and Delta IV Heavy?
In a pairing that makes sense, a massive great white shark pinged off Cape Canaveral this morning , according to OCEARCH scientists . The nearly 14-foot, 1,700-pound shark, nicknamed Mahone by OCEARCH, pinged in the waters southeast of Cape Canaveral at 5:45 a.m. Thursday.
A ping means the Smart Position and Temperature Transmitting Tag (SPOT) tag attached to the shark's dorsal fin broke the water's surface and transmitted location information to trackers.
10:40 a.m. "Go" to begin preparing Delta IV Heavy tanks for fueling
United Launch Alliance said the launch team has given a "go" to chilldown the three booster cores. This is the step needed before they can fill them with propellent.
This is the 16th and final flight of the Delta IV Heavy and the 45th Delta IV launch. Today's launch will truly be the end of an era.
10:30 a.m. Delta IV Heavy Countdown - Weather a concern
Weather remains the biggest concern today as the countdown ticks toward the final launch of the Delta IV Heavy. There is a 30 percent chance of favorable weather conditions.
The United Launch Alliance team is monitoring strong winds in the area from the passage of a cold front. Here's what they say are anticipating from the weather: some scattered clouds, good visibility, northwesterly winds 25 to 30 knots and temperatures in the low 70s.

United Launch Alliance to launch final Delta Heavy IV rocket. Here's how to watch live
The launch will end a 64-year run for the Delta family.
Update for March 29: ULA announced that the company will further delay the final mission of its Delta Heavy IV rocket as "more time is needed to instill confidence in the system" prior to launch.
The era of Delta Heavy IV is coming to an end.
For the last 64 years, United Launch Alliance 's (ULA's) heavy-lift rocket has led an impressive career lofting large payloads into space. However, the rocket is scheduled to lift off one last time when it launches from Space Launch Complex-37 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The launch was originally planned for Thursday afternoon (March 28), but ULA called that try off due to a technical issue a few minutes before liftoff. The company has not yet set a new launch date, and announced in in a post on X that "more time is needed to instill confidence in the system" prior to liftoff.
Aboard the Delta Heavy IV rocket for the mission, known as NROL-70, will be a classified payload being launched on behalf of the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The NRO rarely discloses the nature or capabilities of its spy satellites , and this particular mission offers no exception.
Yet, while the payload is a secret, the launch is not. You can watch it live here at Space.com, courtesy of ULA.

The specific nature of the spacecraft launching atop ULA's Delta Heavy IV rocket on Friday of course remains a mystery, but we can assume it's a sophisticated spy satellite given the customer. The NRO is an agency within the Department of Defense tasked with developing, building and operating the United States' surveillance satellites.

A mission description published by ULA states the payload aboard Friday's launch launch will "strengthen the NRO's ability to provide a wide-range of timely intelligence information to national decision makers, warfighters, and intelligence analysts to protect the nation’s vital interests and support humanitarian efforts worldwide."

In addition to the Delta IV Heavy, ULA plans on retiring another one of its rockets: The workhorse Atlas V . The idea is to make way for the company's new Vulcan Centaur , which launched on its first mission on Jan. 8, 2024 when it sent Astrobotic's Peregrine lunar lander moonward.
The Atlas V will keep flying through 2029, however, as it is already booked for missions to help develop Amazon's Project Kuiper internet constellation and send Boeing's Starliner crew capsule to the International Space Station on its first launch , slated for no earlier than May 1.
Editor's note: This story was updated at 2:53 p.m. ET on March 28 with the new planned launch date of March 29.
