Feadship launched the 46.40-metre (152’3”) motoryacht Kiss on Saturday 14 February 2015 in a ceremony that made the most of the Valentine’s Day spirit. Having recently unveiled two of the largest superyachts in the global fleet – the 101.50-metre Feadship and 83.50-metre Savannah – this weekend’s launch proves how Feadship can also embrace its roots size-wise within the highest standards of 21st-century custom yachtbuilding. Kiss also showcases Feadship's ability to optimise the efficiency of the engineering processes involved in creating a bespoke superyacht.

KISS Yacht – Exceptional $30M Superyacht

The KISS yacht is an elegant 46.4m/152’3″ motor yacht built by Feadship in the Netherlands at their Aalsmeer shipyard.

She was appropriately named, given that she was launched and delivered to her owner on Valentine’s day in the year 2015.

Since then, she has received several awards for her design and construction

Her interior was fashioned by the British design firm Redman Whiteley Dixon , a UK-based yacht interior designer renowned for bringing beautifully unique designs to life.

They pride themselves in building a masterpiece with care and integrity to realize the owner’s dreams.

On the other hand, her exterior was penned by Dubois Naval Architects Ltd , an expert when it comes to marrying seaworthiness with grace to create luxurious and elegant yachts.

KISS was built with children in mind and is perfect for undertaking long-term, long-distance cruising with them.

The Dubois team improved the children’s facilities, and the result was a contemporary interior design with a cozy family twist that will keep both grown-ups and children occupied. She also has additional cabin space for nannies and teachers.

The lower deck features a natural rippled sycamore in golden color as a backdrop. As you go up through the boat, you will see grey and silver tones on the main deck and warmer honey hues on the owners’ deck.

The main deck’s lounge has a sophisticated vibe with beautiful fabric selections that complements the yacht’s architectural features.

There are bespoke furniture items throughout the boat, such as the side tables with eel skin inlays and a crackle finish lacquering on top.

With its stunning marble work hand-chosen from Italy, the result is a beautiful and family-friendly place.

Specifications

The KISS yacht is constructed with an aluminum superstructure, a beam of 9 m, and a draft of 2.3m.

She has a semi-displacement hull that allows her to maintain great seakeeping while reaching incredible speeds.

She is powered by a twin diesel Caterpillar (C32 Acert) 1,450hp engine running at 1800rpm, allowing her to cruise comfortably at 14 knots.

Her maximum speed is at 16 knots, and she has a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles from her 51,000-liter fuel tanks when traveling at 10 knots on her diesel fuel.

Her freshwater tanks have a capacity of around 16,000 liters, and she is equipped with two Caterpillar 6.6 – 2x 125 kW – 1500 rpm generators.

Lastly, she was built according to the Lloyds Register classification society’s specifications.

The KISS yacht’s exterior design is the work of Dubois and features a standout metallic black.

In collaboration with De Voogt’s engineers, Dubois and his team worked tirelessly to ensure that Kiss’s profile and exterior styling reflected this one-of-a-kind layout.

Although unusual for a yacht with a length of fewer than 50 meters to have a fully equipped master penthouse on the upper deck, this is exactly what this yacht has.

She features a raised pilothouse bridge on the main deck, providing the skipper with excellent views without overlooking guest areas.

There is also an oversized sundeck with a raised hot tub and lots of room for sitting and sunbathing.

Accommodation

With its 46-meter length and luxurious accommodations, the KISS yacht can host 12 people in comfort and luxury.

Motor Yacht

Feadship launched Kiss on Valentine's Day in 2015. With this timely launch, Feadship displayed their ability to create truly ground-breaking custom yachts in the 40-50 metre market, along with revered design studios Dubois Naval Architects and Redman Whiteley Dixon.

This powerful and purposeful exterior is the second Dubois design built by the Feadship yard to date, featuring a metallic black hull and immediately distinctive profile with a wealth of distinctive design features. Her contrasting interior was created by Redman Whiteley Dixon, which creates a welcome and calming atmosphere for those stepping on board the ultra-modern superyacht.

Kiss features an unusual layout as her dedicated owners deck with al fresco dining is something usually found on yachts over 50m, however the innovative use of space on board welcomes 12 guests in complete comfort with 3 twins, 2 doubles and plenty of features linking guests to the water outside.

One of the main innovations pushing this is a sunroof which opens to bring light into the interior, creating an open space to breathe and feel the wind of the ocean. Adding to the al fresco pleasures include a sun-deck with Jacuzzi, a transom swim platform and a special underwater ‘play-pen’.

Kiss has transatlantic range and is powered by two 1,450hp Caterpillars, giving it a top speed of 16.5 knots and very economical cruising at 14 knots.

Kiss (46m) by Feadship

Oh yes  feadship launched yachts in a line ( savannah , project 808) . the newest is christened "kiss" and has a length of 46m..

Kiss was built at the Kaag facility and was designed by Dubois  like the award-winning COMO launched in 2014 and is linked to her in some ways. After a half of year signing the contract of Como, Ed Dubois came with another client to Feadship.

Henk de Vries commented:

“With yachts like Como and Kiss, we are effectively building a sporty type boat around our average size of over 15 years ago, but now with all the know-how and intelligence, Feadship has developed. This facilitates a clever approach to high-end production, one which remains entirely custom while keeping the costs of a Feadship of this size within the bounds of reason.”

Kiss Yacht Feadship

“Ed was highly appreciative of the way that the Feadship yards work with outside designers as well as the in-house naval architects at Feadship De Voogt. Even though Como and Kiss have similar looks they are very different yachts. Most if not all yards would have taken a platform approach based on Como’s hull, offering the client a discount for the reduced amount of engineering. That’s not how Feadship does things.”

“The owner of Kiss required a more conventional speed of 16 knots (Como is 19), so she has a different power plant. And while Como is a sports boat with an open top deck, Kiss has a complete master penthouse on the upper deck. This obviously added both volume and weight to the yacht, hence requiring a revised lines plan. Make no mistake, these are two different Feadships.”

The interior (no photos yet) was designed by also UK-based  Redman Whitely Dixon  design studio. Feadship describes it as a stark, crisp look.

Henk de Vries about the work with RWD:

“They did a fantastic job on Kiss. It is never easy to take over an interior design project once underway and, on behalf of Feadship, I would like to say how impressed we are again with RWD’s work.”

The owner has an own private deck. A feature what is not often used on yachts in the “smaller” 50m class. Kiss accommodates 8 guests in 4 cabins. There are two crew cabins, Captain’s Cabin and Engineer’s Cabin.

Feadship unveils superyacht Kiss

kiss yacht feadship owner

Feadship launched the 46.4-metre aluminium superaycht Kiss on Saturday – a fitting ceremony for Valentine’s Day. The yacht is styled outside by Ed Dubois and inside by Redman Whitely Dixon – the same team responsible for Feadship’s 43-metre Como , which launched last year, and has some clear similarities to Kiss . But Feadship director Henk de Vries says that this yacht is for a different owner, pointing out that six months after the yard signed the contract for Como , Ed Dubois came to Feadship with another client. “Ed was highly appreciative of the way that the Feadship yards work with outside designers as well as the in-house naval architects at Feadship De Voogt. Even though Como and Kiss have similar looks, they are very different yachts,” he says.

“The owner of Kiss required a more conventional speed of 16 knots, compared to Como’s 19, so she has a different power plant. And while Como has an open-top deck, Kiss has a complete master penthouse on the upper deck. This added both volume and weight to the yacht, requiring a revised lines plan,” he says. The yard describe the yacht as “the most complex object ever to have been metallically painted”. She features a metallic black hull with a red stripe on the waterline, that required Feadship to develop special mixing machines and electrically charged spray guns so that the metallic flakes would be in perfect order.

On the owner’s deck, an aluminium-plated sunroof opens up to bring natural light in and there is access to the  Jacuzzi. There is accommodation for ten guests in five suites as well as four crew cabins, a staff room and a captain’s cabin near the raised pilothouse.

“With yachts like Como and Kiss , we are effectively building a sporty type boat around our average size of over 15 years ago, but now with all the know-how and intelligence Feadship has developed,” says Henk De Vries. “This facilitates a clever approach to high-end production, one which remains entirely custom while keeping the costs of a Feadship of this size within the bounds of reason.”

Look inside: new photos of Feadship superyacht Kiss

Step inside the Feadship superyacht Kiss with these new interior photos. The stunning photo shoot of Kiss took place off Palma, Spain and showcases the 46.4 metre Kiss , with her sporty exterior by Dubois Naval Architects and crisp interior by Redman, Whiteley, Dixon .

Fitting for a yacht named Kiss , Feadship launched the yacht on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2015. Though the yard is delivering ever-larger yachts, including the largest-ever Feadship Symphony , the launch of  Kiss shows its commitment to building custom yachts across a range of sizes. Feadship notes that Kiss highlights its ability to "optimise the efficiency of the engineering processes in creating a bespoke superyacht".

Feadship benefited from last year's much-lauded launch, the award-winning Como , now re-named Lady May , to standardise and enhance its production process. The builder incorporated the production methods and engineering processes used on Como in the build of Kiss while still creating a completely custom yacht.

“With yachts like Como and Kiss , we are effectively building a sporty type boat around our average size of over 15 years ago, but now with all the know-how and intelligence Feadship has developed,” says Feadship Director Henk De Vries. “This facilitates a clever approach to high-end production, one which remains entirely custom while keeping the costs of a Feadship of this size within the bounds of reason.”

While not an exact sister ship, Kiss is linked to Feadship's 46.22 metre Como , launched February 2014, in more ways than their similar size. Indeed, they share the same exterior designer and naval architect, Dubois Naval Architects, who brought Feadship the client for Kiss just six months after the signing of Como . Superyacht  Kiss is now for sale .

The exterior styling of Kiss stands out with its large, 6.5 metre-wide bulwark window, which gives the yacht a sporty look. Complemented by sliding doors at the main entrance, the interior is bathed in natural light.

“Ed was highly appreciative of the way that the Feadship yards work with outside designers as well as the in-house naval architects at Feadship De Voogt,” Henk De Vries continues. “Even though Como and Kiss have similar looks, they are very different yachts. Most if not all yards would have taken a platform approach based on Como ’s hull, offering the client a discount for the reduced amount of engineering. That’s not how Feadship does things."

The owner of Kiss had a different brief, De Vries explains, requiring a more conventional speed of 16 knots, versus Como 's 19 knots. Because of this, she has a different power package, with twin 1,800rpm Caterpillar C32 engines.

The owner also requested a different layout – while Como is a sports boat with open upper deck, Kiss 's upper deck is devoted to the owner's suit with a master stateroom "penthouse" boasting incredible views. This adds to the total volume of the yacht, and therefore the weight.

"Make no mistake, these are two different Feadships," Henk De Vries says.

The upper owner's deck, unusual for a yacht less than 50 metres, has an aluminium-plated sun roof, which opens to let more light in. A spa tub is found up on the sun deck.

Also requested by the client, Kiss boasts a metallic paint job – black metallic hull, red stripe at the waterline and silver superstructure – that was challenging to apply and required special mixing machines and electrically charged spray guns that were used to ensure that the metallic flakes would appear in perfect distribution.

As can be seen in the new photos of Kiss above, interior by Redman Whiteley Dixon features a stark, fresh motif. Mark Whiteley, former RWD partner, and Toby Ecuyer began the work, and the project was finished by Toby Ecuyer and Douglad Hynd.

The superyacht world is speculating that Mark Zuckerberg just bought this 118-meter boat

  • The 118-meter superyacht Launchpad made her maiden voyage last week.
  • The yacht world is speculating that her owner is Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
  • Here's what we know about the luxury vessel.

Insider Today

In the world of superyachts , privacy is the most valuable asset. It can be next to impossible to discern the details of a superyacht transaction — and that's particularly true if the vessel in question is worth nine figures.

Yet some in the boat blogging world are speculating that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is the new owner of Launchpad, a megayacht currently moored in Fort Lauderdale, Florida after she made her maiden voyage from Gibraltar to St Maarten last week. Launchpad clocks in at 118 meters long, about nine meters shorter than Jeff Bezos' superyacht Koru .

The transaction could not be confirmed, with yacht world insiders declining to share what they know and representatives for Zuckerberg not responding to a request for comment from Business Insider. In the past, reports about Zuckerberg owning superyacht Ulysses have proven false.

Related stories

"It is Feadship's standard policy to never divulge any information about our yachts with reference to ownership, costs, or delivery, etc," Feadship, the ship's builder, wrote to BI. "Whether it is an 18-meter Feadship from the 1960s or a 118-meter Feadship from the 21st century, we do not share private information."

But Zuckerberg's name has been connected to Launchpad for a few months now, beginning in December when reports swirled that he visited Feadship's shipyard in the Netherlands.

Then, earlier in March, yachting bloggers like eSysman SuperYachts and Autoevolution started speculating that he officially snagged the boat, originally built for a sanctioned Russian businessman, at a $300 million price tag. (While that's a seemingly huge amount, it's still less than 0.2% of Zuckerberg's $177 billion net worth.)

Another clue that might point to US ownership is that the yacht bears the flag of the Marshall Islands, a US territory and commonplace for American buyers to register their ships, according to public marine tracking.

If Zuckerberg were to have bought Launchpad, he would join a cohort of superyacht-owning tech billionaires . Along with Bezos, the likes of Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison and Google cofounders Sergey Brin and Larry Page have purchased impressive boats with even more impressive amenities.

SuperYacht Times , an industry publication and intelligence platform, has some of the best images of the yacht. Photos show a swimming pool on her main deck and a large helipad.

While less is known of the interior, a vessel of her size can likely sleep dozens of guests and crew and may have amenities like an expansive gym where Zuckerberg could practice his jiu-jitsu or a spa with a massage area. We suspect there's also space for plenty of toys — which could include his viral hydrofoil foil .

A MULTIMILLIONAIRE has gifted his wife an ultimate £37 million Valentine's present.

The incredible 150ft superyacht named "Kiss" was custom-built as a romantic gesture for the lover's day.

The incredible yacht was gifted in a ceremony with red balloons on Valentine's day

On Valentine's day , the millionaire owner presented his lavish gift in a ceremony with red balloons.

The mega yacht was gift-wrapped in a matching bootstripe - a narrow line along the length of the boat.

The floating Taj Mahal - just like the famous Indian landmark - was also built as a present to the owner's wife in 2015.

It was allegedly owned by the Dutch tech millionaire Rudolph Booker.

But apart from the lovely sentiment, the yacht also boasts luxurious amenities.

Per the owner's request, the yacht was painted in a unique metallic black colour, which required a painstaking effort.

The Feadship CEO Henk de Vries called it "the most complicated object ever to have been painted this way".

The yacht company developed a new mixing machine for the team to spray paint the outside with one clean sweep.

Kiss is also believed to be the first sea trial of gas-to-liquids synthetic diesel on a yacht.

The caterpillar twin engines propel the yacht to a cruising speed of 12 nautical miles per hour.

The interior of the yacht was carefully designed to fit the taste of the owners.

The private deck features a cosy saloon which makes a perfect romantic setup.

The penthouse-style cabin opens up a stunning ocean view.

And the massive hatch in the cabin's ceiling slides to reveal the blue skies to satisfy "the owner's love of fresh air".

The cabin's terrace offers an intimate, al-fresco lounge for the couple to enjoy their breakfast.

It is also equipped with a dining table to host family and friends, and the sunshade which provides a hideout from the blazing sun.

The yacht can accommodate 12 guests in six cabins including a VIP suite on the main deck.
