Construction is well underway for the new 53-meter motoryacht Jewels. With hull and superstructure completed and interior work in process, she is taking form. Jewels’ exterior design belongs to Miami based DeBasto Design whilst her interior is created by London based H2 Yacht Design.

She offers 8 + 1 guest staterooms, while the exterior deck areas are spacious and designed for entertainment of both big groups and for intimate gatherings of 12 to 14 people. “No one will feel lost” says Luiz DeBasto. The Sun Deck offers around-the-clock entertainment with a hot tub, sun-pads, TV, day head, bar and acres of open space.

“With Jewels’ enormous volume, my objective was to make the exterior less bulky and give a feeling of a forward dynamic movement, rather than a static feel” says Luiz DeBasto. “I wanted the design to show movement and purpose from any angle. I achieved this with the long ascending line from the swim platform all the way up to the mast and down to the pilothouse windshield”.

Some of Jewels’ highlights include a substantial swim platform that make it easy for ingress and egress from tenders. The Owner's stateroom and VIP suite are forward on Main Deck. Traffic circulation between guests and crew are completely separated on all decks, including discreet access on Lower Deck between the Laundry and the Guest's area. Crew accommodations for 10 are on the lower deck and there is a Captain's cabin on the Upper Deck next to the pilothouse.

“The yacht’ general arrangement is unique and highly personalized, using all available space to maximize guest accommodation. 5 guest cabins occupy the lower deck with the typical beach club area being surrendered for an extra guest cabin. The main deck retains the typical layout with main saloon, spacious full beam owner’s suite and neighboring VIP cabin. On bridge deck an extra 2 cabins have been added between the bridge and upper saloon providing accommodation for 18 guests in total.” Says James Bermudez, H2 Yacht Design.

“The interior design brief was established early in the design process with the client favoring a traditional yacht aesthetic combining classic teak joinery with gold inlays, bevel edged mirrors, colorful textiles and highly decorative stones.

Jewels, a Rare Gem, Joins the Turquoise Fleet of Yachts

Jewels, a Rare Gem, Joins the Turquoise Fleet of Yachts

Turquoise Yachts is proud to share an expanded portfolio of images of the recently delivered 53m Jewels.

Jewels’ exterior, with her elegant sharp lines and clear geometry, is the design work of Miami-based DeBasto Designs, and her sumptuous interior design is the creation of London- based H2 Yacht Design in collaboration with the yacht’s owner.

At 720 GT, Jewels offer a fantastic amount of interior and exterior space commensurate with yachts that are usually much larger. She offers 8 + 1 guest staterooms, while the exterior deck areas are spacious and designed for entertaining both large groups as well as intimate gatherings. “No one will feel lost,” says Luiz DeBasto, principal of DeBasto Designs. The Sun Deck offers around-the-clock entertainment with a hot tub, sun-pads, TV, day head, bar, and acres of open space.

The Interior

“The interior design brief was established early in the design process with the client favoring a traditional yacht aesthetic combining classic teak joinery with gold inlays, bevel-edged mirrors, colorful textiles and highly decorative stones,” says James Bermudez from H2 Yacht Design.

Jewels feature a lavish interior with intricate detailing and high craftsmanship. The yacht’s general arrangement is unique and highly personalized, using all available space to maximize guest accommodations. Five guest cabins occupy the lower deck as the typical beach club area was eliminated to achieve an extra guest cabin. The main deck has a traditional layout with a main salon, a spacious complete beam owner’s suite, and a neighboring VIP stateroom. On the bridge deck, an extra two cabins have been added between the bridge and the upper saloon, providing accommodation for 18 guests in total.

In the owners’ suite, stained teak window framing and door architraves are combined with bulkhead panels of flame mahogany and burl sycamore, all finished in high gloss lacquer and accented with gold inlays. Built-in furniture is embellished with gold rope detailing and warm honey onyx. In the bathroom amazonite marble panels sit on a backdrop of giallo siena stone with teak joinery and more gold detailing.

On the lower deck, guest cabins are color themed; green, purple, and red with gold textiles mixed in with the teak and walnut burl veneers. In the bathrooms, the decorative themes continue with the use of bold-colored marble along with gold details and appointments.

The Amenities

In addition to the spacious accommodations, Jewels also offers a wide range of amenities to keep guests entertained and comfortable. These include a large swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a sun deck, a bar, a gym, and a cinema. A spacious beach club with a barbecue area and a water sports platform also exists.

The Owner’s Input

The owner of Jewels was a frequent visitor to Turquoise Yachts and extremely hands-on in the interior design process. With the help of our interior and projects teams, the owner discovered that Istanbul and its environs are a wonderful place to find exotic textiles, marble, and much of his desired interior appointments. In fact, he himself visited our suppliers and picked out all of the new material selections. Jewels is a testimony to a wonderful collaboration among the yard, the designers, and the owner.

Turquoise Yachts has announced the launch of 53m Jewels , another unique vessel to add to the Turquoise fleet. The celebrations gave Jewels a warm welcome to the seas as the newest member of the Turquoise fleet. The ceremony took place at the Pendik shipyard on the 19th of August together with the owners, guests and the Turquoise team.

Jewels' exterior design belongs to Miami based DeBasto Design , whilst her interior is created by London based H2 Yacht Design . At 720 GT, Jewels offers interior and exterior space commensurate with yachts that are usually much larger.

The vessel offers nine guest staterooms, while the exterior deck areas are spacious and designed for entertaining big groups and also for intimate gatherings. "No one will feel lost" says Luiz DeBasto. The Sun Deck offers around-the-clock entertainment with a hot tub, sun-pads, TV, day head and open space.

In the five years between 2017 and 2021 Turquoise Yachts have on average made one delivery every year, however, 2022 has already seen one delivery this year, as well as the launch of Jewels and another vessel still in build.
