Hotel was very clean, staff was friendly and the rooms are awesome. We usually stay here when we are in town. Stacie at the front desk is so sweet and nice. Shuttle to casino is great. We got snowed in and stuck in the snow. One of their crew that plows their parking lots helped get us out and made sure we got back to the hotel ok. He went way above and beyond. Jennifer Sharp is an amazing hostess. Always takes amazing care of us. Due to being snowed in we took the shuttle to the casino and had some lunch. Amazing food and great customer service.

If going here don't gamble. This casino location is controlled. Food is mediocre and staff is ok but if you want to throw your money away, this casino is engineered to do so and arming yourself with this info will prevent giving them your hard earned money.

Ate there many years ago for a Thanksgiving buffet and it was just "fair", the buffet restaurant is no longer there. Stopped in the casino recently, first time, unimpressed. Kind of dumpy, depressed, bad lighting. Friendly servers on the floor but servers at the rewards counter were unfriendly. Casino is too small, no indoor parking, See no reason to return.

My arrival day started with an 8am call to the hotel asking for an early check-in. I was informed that if I arrived before 3pm, I would be charged an additional $15 to check in "early". I decided to wait. Once I checked-in, I was given a room on the 7th floor. Checked immediately and discovered the refrigerator did not work. Went back to the front desk and asked for a different room. Received the second room only to find that someone had left chewing tobacco in one trash can and it was not changed. As this is kind of disgusting, I removed the bag and disposed of it by the ice machine. On to the bathroom, there was 1/2 roll of toilet paper on the roll with no extras and additional towels were needed. I called and these were brought to the room. The next issue was a running toilet. I did not feel like moving again, so I dealt with it. This hotel is very nice and the rooms are large (bathrooms are clean, but small). At check-out, I had to wait because there was no one at the front desk and there was a bit of confusion with an extra resort fee being charged and an employee not knowing how to print my folio, but it was resolved after a wait. I'm not sure if I will be returning to this property.

Average riverboat casino. Riverboats can be kinda cramped due to the structure of the boat and it being 3 decks. So stairs/elevator is your friend. With Covid, I suggest taking the stairs. Lots of slots I enjoy playing and multiples of popular ones like Buffalo Gold, Crazy money, sky wheel bonus, etc. There was crowding around the table games, which are right in the middle of the casino floor on the second deck, which makes moving around difficult on a busy night like a Saturday. I noticed machines were on right next to each other, so social distancing measures not being followed in that regard, but they do enforce mask wearing. Hit a nice $1200 slot cashout last night and only bought in for $200. So the machines were good to me! I've been a VIP at Boyd casinos for years, mainly playing at Sams Town in Shreveport and Main Street Station, California, and Sams Town in Vegas. Traveled and moved to New England so was away from Boyd properties for a little over a year. Having to start from the bottom again on players card is annoying though with the new tier structure. Hopefully I'll get my VIP status back again soon.

Not a lot of table games. Had to wait to get a seat at a table. Upstairs table games were not open security was horrible. We attended. Wedding at the hotel. The hotel was GREAT. But after the wedding the security guard kicked someone out.. they went through the whole boat trying to find people that had attended the wedding to kick them out as well which is insane For many reasons. After being kicked out for no reason, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I would not return to this casino due to the poor taste and temperament of the staff. Went from a fun weekend to being upset. will not be spending my money there again. Not will many of 150 that attended the wedding

The room was a nice size and clean. Staff were friendly in the lobby. Casino - Reminds me the days of Empress Casino. Small boat.

We stayed here a few years ago and had no problems, but after last night we will never be going back. There have obviously not been any updates or proper cleanings since our last visit. The whole hotel was dingy, our room smelled like fish oil and my grandmas expired vitamins, the sheets were so scratchy and felt like paper, and the cherry on top was listening to the 3 couples in the room next door have "fun" all night through the paper thin walls. Not exaggerating- all the conversation and sounds from 6 people that lasted constantly from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am.

Very Friendly staff, but needs updating. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are in need of updates and new mattresses. Everything is clean, and event rooms are nice. Close to the casino and the hotel bar is nice place as well.

I stayed at the hotel and went to the Casino. First, the hotel. I honestly had my fears with staying at hotel especially since I live near Chicago and typically like to splurge more to stay at 4 to 5 star hotels. However, my girlfriend kept saying that Casino hotels are typically nice since they want to encourage you to stay near and gamble. Luckily, I took her advice because I did stay at this location. The hotel room was very spacious and nice. We luckily had a corner room so I enjoyed that even more. As a Chicago guy, you normally have to pay more for this. However, the view was nice considering I never get a corner room. The beds were good, and did its job for one night. The people at the front desk were helpful and friendly with any questions we had. They gave us recommendations about breakfast and lunch and their preferences which I always enjoy to hear. However, then came time for the casino. We went to the Casino during the night. I want to say about 11pm/12am. There was about 4 people ahead of us to get in and it took almost 30 minutes to an hour to get in. I dont know what was taking so long.. I think they were taking a picture of us on a microscopic level of our retinas to analyze our blood to get our DNA to search the galaxy database to see if we were wanted on another planet or what...but there is no reason why it should take forever to get inside. We were tempted to leave many times during this wait. The guard at the front desk seemed like he had a chip on his shoulder as if he worked for the TSA or something. Was very rude and quiet. The other guard/security were nice and friendly. Once inside, it was very cramp. Granted, it is on a boat, but I have been to a few casinos and didnt feel as cramped. The layout, if there was one, was very confusing. Nothing really special about this casino and I doubt we will back if we ever come back to Peoria. I would not mind staying at the hotel, but I doubt I will return to the Casino. All the casinos I have been too was a simple ID check and scan, maybe 5 minutes per person at the max, but here its like 10-15 per person.

Par-A-Dice Casino owner presents plan for new gaming facility to state board

E AST PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — The state’s gaming board renewed the license for the Par-A-Dice Casino after the riverboat facility announced plans to develop what is described as “a new, modern, and fresh gaming facility.

The casino, first licensed on Feb. 14, 1992, was granted a four-year renewal. Along with the renewal, the Illinois Gaming Board told Par-A-Dice to submit its casino project development plan for consideration on or before March 14, 2026.

WMBD contacted the city of East Peoria and the East Peoria Chamber of Commerce . Both declined to comment on the potential plans.

David Strow, a spokesman for Boyd Gaming, which owns the Par-A-Dice, said the company has “no further comment beyond yesterday’s presentation.”

According to state data, Illinois has 15 casinos, 14 licensed sportsbooks, and a network of over 8,500 licensed video gaming establishments.

In addition to the license renewal and presentation, the Illinois Gaming Board also highlighted the Month of March as Problem Gambling Awareness Month .

IGB Administrator Marcus Fruchter encouraged everyone to visit the IGB website for information about the IGB’s  Self-Exclusion Program  and to visit “ Are You Really Winning? ” for information about the Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery Program. Problem gambling counseling and referral services can be accessed by calling 1-800-GAMBLER (800-426-2537) or by texting “GAMB” to 833234.

In addition, Fruchter announced that the IGB is accepting public comment on potential changes to the video gaming licensing process. All comments can be submitted to [email protected] until 5 p.m. on April 30, 2024.

Breakfast buffet is ok. Made to order omelets, bacon, coffee are good. Other items such as ready made eggs, corned beef hash, pancakes, desserts are not good at all. Service is a little below par. Long waits for coffee refills and dirty plates pick-ups. Better... off going down the road to Bob Evans. More

Really good fish selection at the buffet! I went back twice. The baked potato and hush puppies were also good. The waiters and staff were friendly and they had some good looking steamboat round and ham that I did not try. I'd go back!

We usually stay at the Par-A-Dice hotel and do some gambling overnight on Sundays, a few times a year. They used to have the buffet open on Mondays, but for some reason, they discontinued this in the past year. For this trip, it was open!... We were told because it was Presidents' Day. They were not busy at all, so have no idea why they thought they would draw in a crowd, when people know they typically are closed on Mondays. I felt sorry for the employees, as it was not busy at all. We went for breakfast, and they only had one side open, which is understandable. Selection was good and tasty. Our waitress did a great job with drink refills and asking if we needed anything else. We always did enjoy the buffet, but very disappointed that they closed it on Mondays. More

the food is marginal....no attention given to food display and replenishment....not many choices of main entrée....no smiles from attendants and servers or cash register personnel....unless you are getting a comp meal...don't waste your money here....go to the 24 hour grill instead. just an all-around bad... buffet experience. The worse buffet. Although the staff is nice. This place needs a good cleaning throughout before someone gets sick.

We stopped for the breakfast buffet before heading down the road from an overnight stay at the Paradice hotel. The server was very good about filling coffee cups up and removing dirty dishes. Had a decent selection on the buffet. Bacon, sausage links, corned beef... hash (love it), potatoes, biscuits and gravy, country fried steak (kind of bland). Just a few of the hot dishes. They do make omelets and eggs cooked to order. The line can get long for that at times. Had several donut, bread choices. Fruit was prunes, grapefruit and strawberries. Typical breakfast buffet with a decent selection of food. More

Went there for Thanksgiving lunch. Food was terrible. They weren't busy while Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans, and Denny's were packed. Turkey was dry, prime rib was so tough it was inedible. Asked for rolls, and 2 hours later still waiting. Pork chops extremely dry. Desserts... were terrible. More

Options Buffet at Par-A-Dice offers plentiful food selections. Brunch is especially nice - although it is certainly not the best value for the cost. The facility is kept in pretty good order. All things considered, this buffet is in a convenient location.

My wife and I ate here on a Friday evening, just happening to come across it while sight seeing. We’ve had some outstanding buffets at casinos before. This wasn’t one of them. For a Buffett, the options were quite limited. I’ve seen more choices elsewhere.... What I did try was either poorly cooked or just bland. The prime rib (that and salmon were the special entrees for the evening) was well done - no pink at all. Who burns a prime rib that way?? The salmon was so-so, saved by the large amount of butter poured over it. Shrimp ‘jambalaya’ was totally bland and boring. Sides were limited and not worth remembering. The Mac and cheese was nasty. I would have preferred boxed Kraft to theirs. Overall, just not worth it with so many other local places to sample. More

Have had the lunch and the dinner buffets. Both are delicious. Good choice of salad fixings, desserts, meats and side dishes. If you leave hungry, that's YOUR fault!

The only thing Excellent at this buffet is the service. Most are great waiters/waitresses. The lunch buffet is small compared to most casino buffets. Plenty to choose from on the salad bar, but the meat entrees are limited most of the time to meatloaf, pizza,... ham, and fried chicken. The dessert bar has improved over the past year with more things to choose from, but nothing like casinos within driving distance of The Paradise. They have crab legs on the buffet on Saturday nights. The deserts are pretty good. The rest of the food is the usual buffet culprits with nothing special that stands out. The crab legs are the big draw.
