Super fun time and great view if Diamond Head, also loved the crew!

Afternoon Sail

Lots of fun and relaxation on a short 1.5 hour afternoon cruise. Saw hummingbird fish and turtles. Got splashed by the waves and enjoyed our time out on the water

Fun afternoon sail!

It was the perfect day to go sailing. It was raining a lot for the past couple days so I was happy that the weather cleared up when we went. Sunny weather, relaxing Hawaiian music playing while sipping on Maitais. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. For the toilet, it is your standard boat toilet where you have to go down a ladder through a narrow tunnel to get to the toilet. Luckily, I didn't drink too much so I didn't have to use the bathroom during our 90-minute sail. Overall, I had a great time and would love to go again!

Couple enjoying catamaran cruise

The crew onboard was awesome! Very friendly and made the trip entertaining. Drinks prices were very reasonable for Waikiki. Boat ride was great, but be ready to get wet. Alot of people got soaked head to toe. Boat was too crowded, would have rather paid a higher price for a more private feel. Overall very fun experience with amazing views of Diamond Head and Honolulu.

Went with my two daughters, the staff is very friendly and professional, we had a great time!

Poor Seating

I have been on a Catamaran before and this one just really didn't have enough seating for everyone. Was forced to seat on the floor at the front on the boat in a really uncomfortable position. Luckily me and my wife are young so we could deal with it. If you are a older person, you should get there early to get a more suitable seat.

Great cruise

I found the cruise to be very enjoyable. The skipper Clarey was awesome amd very friendly. All in all very good.

Catamaran Sail

Had a good time overall on cat cruise-sail...crew was friendly & professional . We did not like the music played during cruise....not appropriate & too loud...could have done without....it made the people on this cruise talk louder to drown out the music. The staffers; on the phone-reservation, at the check-in desk, & photo gal were VERY nice, too. A fun & beautiful part of our vacation.

Just the best, and a bargain too!

Maita'i Catamaran is an easy cheap way to enjoy a short sail off the coast of Waikiki. Their location is walkable from just about anywhere in Waikiki (which is only about 1.5 miles from east to west), and my family did a quick 90 minute sail. They allow 0-3 year olds on for free, so for my wife and son and I it was a real bargain. Most boating trips pad your cost by including free booze (which can make you seasick, or might have disappointingly little effect if you are from higher altitudes), so I was glad to see it sold a la carte here (quite cheaply). Crew was friendly and approachable, and we got to be on a boat in paradise. They use their motor to get to and from shore efficiently, but most of the time the motor is off and they are just sailing, which is ideal. We saw a dolphin and 2 sea turtles too. I just feel bad that between making sure my 3-year old got off safely and remembering all of our things I totally forgot to tip them. Hopefully this review will help. Book them now!

Absolutely amazing cruise. The deinks were great. Nice captain & DJ. I really enjoyed it.

Maitai Catamaran

We sailed Christmas Day and it was the perfect way to spend the day. The crew were friendly and we had a great sail - well worth the cost

All staff were professional and helpful and had a great time. The only thing was one of the gals helping had her whole but showing and thought that was unprofessional. I don't mind some butt showing but the whole thing?

Nice Afternoon Sail

Very nice boat and crew. Good drinks but would have preferred an open bar like the Island Magic. Delightful sail. Would do again.

Fun Sail and Maitais

I have never been sailing, so Hawaii was a terrific place to start. The team was great on this barefoot cruise, we had storage for our sandals and bags, and we enjoyed fresh-made maitais. It was fun watching the experienced crew set the sails, we got quite good speed and a fabulous breeze, and the views were amazing.

This was my favorite activity while in Waikiki. I could have sailed all day! Had a great crew and was very relaxing. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Maita'i Catamaran

Come aboard the Maita'i Catamaran for an ocean adventure unlike any other. Sailing daily along Waikiki Beach on Oahu's beautiful south shore, this is a fun sightseeing cruise and party all in one! Enjoy spectacular photo opportunities with views of Honolulu, Waikiki and Diamond Head. Relax on the spacious sundeck while sipping a refreshing beverage of your choice (e.g. beer, tropical cocktail, wine, juice or soft drink).

The Maita'i is a state-of-the-art 44-foot catamaran that seats 47 passengers comfortably. It is United States Coast Guard inspected and certified. Choose from the following four Oahu sailing adventures.

Tradewinds Sail

Experience a classic sailing adventure along Waikiki Beach. This tradewinds sail shows you what the modern and ultra-sleek Maita'i catamaran can do! The wind and waves rush by while you enjoy the spectacular views of Waikiki and Diamond Head. Unwind with a tropical drink, enjoy the ocean breeze and look out for marine life, including turtles and humpback whales during the winter whale watch season.

Sunset Sail

Looking for something a bit more romantic? Then come aboard for Maita'i Catamaran's sunset sail. Leave your shoes behind, barefoot board right on Waikiki Beach, sail out through the surf line and leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind. Sit back and enjoy the island's beauty and watch the sun dip below the horizon coloring the ocean and sky in a rainbow of colors. Sip a beer, wine or tropical cocktail while marveling at Oahu's scenic south shore.

Friday Fireworks Sail

Sail by the light of the moon while the stars guide your way on this romantic evening sail along Waikiki Beach. Enjoy the views of the city night lights in the distance as you glide across the deep blue sea with Mahina (Hawaiian for "moon"). It's a feeling unlike any other! This sail comes complete with the usual beverages, but with the magical night sky as the backdrop. With this tour running only on Fridays (and other special nights), it's the perfect way to watch Waikiki's Friday night fireworks.

Maita’i offers a variety of sailings for you to choose from. Enjoy the Island sun on our Trade Wind sails. Looking for something a bit more romantic? Try our Sunset Mai Tai or Fireworks Sail.

You may also book one of our Exclusive Charters available with an open bar. Maita’i is always available for private use for weddings, receptions, parties, family gathering services and many other special needs. All charter reservations are subject to separate contract. Please call or e-mail for additional information.

Check-in is on the beach behind the Sheraton Waikiki and Halekulani Hotels. All sails are barefoot boarding – passengers may get splashed while boarding or sailing, so you may want to bring a towel. Current ID is required to be served alcoholic beverages. Please note – we do have a 48 hour cancellation or rescheduling policy. To cancel or change a reservation, you must speak with one of our reservation specialists previous to 48 hours before the sailing time. For large groups (18 or more), we require 2 weeks notice of any cancellations or changes.

Mai Tais, beer, champagne, wine, juices and soft drinks from our bar are available for purchase onboard. Kiss the tour bus goodbye. This is the ride of your life. 90 minutes of pure exhilaration with the wind and waves off Waikiki as your engine. Our crew will be serving up Mai Tai cocktails, beer, champagne, wine, juices and soft drinks, along with plenty of personality. Get ready to have fun and get wet. (Or not, depending where you sit.) And make friends from all over the world. It’s the #1 sail around…at least according to anyone who’s ever been on it.

This sailing will be booked and confirmed based on our current availability and schedule. All Sailings purchased pending confirmation.

3:00 pm $79 Adults and Teens $40 Children age 4-12 Children 3 years and under are free

Open Bar – Beverages include Mai Tais, beer, wine, champagne, juices and soft drinks. Sail on our Maita`i Afternoon Delite Sail which departs at 3:00pm. Set sail from Waikiki Beach and enjoy the panoramic views of our island and enjoy our “Delite”ful friends that we encounter such as whales (seasonal), dolphins, turtles and flying fish to name a few. This ninety minute sail comes complete with your beverages: Mai Tai’s, beer and wine to name a few!

5:00 pm Sails until the sun sets (Departure time varies with season) $79 Adults and Teens $40 Children ages 4-12 Children 3 years and under are free

Open Bar – Beverages include Mai Tais, beer, wine, champagne, juices and soft drinks. This is one Mai Tai you’ll remember. But bring your camera anyway. You’ll board barefoot from Waikiki Beach, then sail into the sunset sipping a fruity Mai Tai. (Great name, don’t you think?) We’ll also be serving beer, wine, juices and soft drinks if you prefer. And, of course, plenty of water. This romantic journey offers golden views of Diamond Head, Waikiki and Honolulu’s cityscape, as the sun paints the sky and melts into the sea.

If you enjoyed our other sails, you’ll love the Maita’i Fireworks Sail on Fridays at 7:00pm! Shimmering water and twinkling lights make up the scenery, as you glide across the deep blue sea.  It’s a feeling like no other. A 90-minute expedition, complete with the usual beverage service and charming captain and crew – only this time with a spectacular firework display off the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
